If we're not going to buy another striker shouldn't these two be starting to be blooded into the first team? I think most of us would rather one of these was on the bench rather than Ngog or Voronin. Why is Rafa reticent in using them?

Are Pacheco and Nemeth the answer?

I thought Ngog scored the 4th goal the other day and looked pretty good in pre season but thats just me.That's my new book. 'Shut the **** Up, by Dr. Denis Leary'. Patients come in. Exactly mate.Originally posted by SlovenianKopite View Postwhy's everyone so eager to get rid of n'gog(and voronin for that matter), he's looking like a decent enough player, and has already one goal to his name this season, what more do people expect?
People are too quick to jump on him and it seems that now Lucas is finnaly starting to get the credit he rightly deserves, there is now space for someone else to put down. Speak for yourself mate. Voronin may not be Torres, but he's still an established and experienced international striker. N'Gog is part way through his development, but further along than Nemeth or Pacheco and has potential.Originally posted by hamshanks View PostIf we're not going to buy another striker shouldn't these two be starting to be blooded into the first team? Nemeth and Pacheco havent done anything in first team football and Voronin certainly warrants inclusion ahead of them.

Think you're being slightly over sensitive here, nobody's really putting N'Gog down here. The original poster is obviously pretty excited about Nemeth and Pacheco and wants to see them live upto it. Too early though IMO.Originally posted by murder_inc View PostExactly mate.

What on earth has N'gog done wrong? He's still a kid himself.Originally posted by hamshanks View PostIf we're not going to buy another striker shouldn't these two be starting to be blooded into the first team? With the way Rafa's handled Insua's development I have no reservations about how he's dealing with Nemeth and Pacheco. One was injured nearly all last season and the other could still be very lightweight. Both will I'm sure be given a chance at first team level when they're ready and when its opportune to do so, but I completely fail to see why that time should be in the first few games of the season?I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Big year for them both though. They need some Carling Cup games, and ideally we can win our Champions League group with a game or two to go so we can give them a run out then too.

Seems that Rafa wants to make sure they are ready, and rather wait for a year or two before introducing them to first team footy, like Insua. A bit different from Wengers approach, but may be good for them in the way they don't end up like Owen. That requires them to have a lot of patience, but I'm sure they know they will get their chance if they are good enough.
(or the complete opposite, who knows, I'm only guessing here..)

That's all well and good and great if it works. I'm just puzzled why Ngog goes straight into the squad (i've nothing against the kid) while Nemeth who is the same age (Pacheco is a couple of years younger) doesn't get a chance.Originally posted by pondus View PostSeems that Rafa wants to make sure they are ready, and rather wait for a year or two before introducing them to first team footy, like Insua. Nemeth has been scoring goals since he arrived and did so during pre-season and remember Owen was 17 when he made his scoring debut. We need someone else who can score regular goals, we all know that and I think anyone within the set up who's showing that potential should get a shot - great if it's Ngog but I can't see it yet, Nemeth seems to be closer.Monkey Tennis
