    A) Let the council fund it then...we're not exactly flush with financial resources

    B) I'm not so sure those players you mentioned would have made us a profit when you add up their costs over the years spent with us

    C) It would only save us if the youngsters were any good. Clearly they aren't as the majority don't get a sniff of the first team and those that do, look woefully out of their depth.

      so you advocate no academy then?

      what about the under 18s? the reserves? if they dont produce lots of players for the first team should we stop them to?

      am not convinced that the academy does great things but it is hard to dsiplace players like alonso mash gerrard torres riena carra

      obviously rafa has overhauled it with the bloke from barca coming in. i do wonder if barca have a larger captive market of youngsters than we do though?
