Again, i wasnt asking in that question whether he's better than Cattermole.

Is the requirement for a Liverpool player, now merely to be better than Cattermole?

I dont think, if Lucas played for a random 10th-14th placed PL club, that you'd look at him and think 'he would improve us, i want him'.

And winning Brazilian player of the year award, until LFC start playing in the brazilian league, is of no relevance to us.

It seemed many fans thought that of players like Crouch and Benayoun too though - both these players probably fit your criteria but are now considered successful purchases in retrospect.

I remember a thread when we signed Yossi when a (now departed) poster labelled him "Yossa the Tossa", and we had to have the word "lurch" filtered to "crouch" for ages on here - so I don't think its that big an assumption.

Lucas IS good enough to play for Liverpool fc, that is why he is playing on a regular basis, fact! Get used to it.

Craig has been intimating all the way in this thread that some people think that Rafa isn't good enough for Liverpool because he's picking Lucas for every game, so he must have bad judgement for a player who could well have come from Wigan or Middlesbrough, meaning he wouldn't be as flashy as coming from Gremio.

I did think we overpaid for Crouch at the time though, although I certainly wouldn't have blamed him for that.

I seem to remember some little ******s called Brendan and Ryan who came from ****talk and done nothing but slate Crouchie EVERY game. Two of the worst so called "fans" I have ever come accross in my life and that was in these forums.

I wasnt that pleased when we signed Benni but at the time we just lost Garcia and Benni was his replacement. I never ONCE though said on these forums or anywere else that he is "****" "useless" etc etc. because he obviously wasnt/isnt and my reservations at first was due to the fact we lost Lil Luis and I was gutted and now im absolutely made up and over the ****ing moon that I was wrong in not being pleased when we signed him.

I personally think Lucas WILL become an excellent signing for us somewere in the future. FFS, he is a kid and he will get better and better.
I personally think he has been one of our more consistent players this season along with Benni, Kuyt and GJ and considering how we lord these players up all the time, maybe the same people should add Lucas in there too with the lording up imo.

Sick of certain individuals using Lucas as a whipping boy. Get the **** off his back and support him instead of bashing him.

Some of you and you know who you are, call yourselves "Fans". Well start acting like one and get behind him instead of sharpening your daggers.

Ok, he's not the best midfielder in the premiership, but by no means is he the worst.

The pricks that slate and boo the young lad should take a long hard look at themselves......are they contributing to LFC by this ****e they are talking?

It's little more than people like you who take not rating a player as 'insulting'.

There's a small minority who are abusive and that's idiotic. There's always idiotic minorities in every walk of life, it's a waste of time bothering about them and letting them upset you, easier to just ignore it.
