yeah, he looked the part in pre season........maybe rafa would think about giving him a chance to play against Leeds? Pach probaably needs a bit of real match atmosphere at the likes of Elland Rd to we see what he is made of. We will find out a lot more about him in a match like that. What do the rest of you think?

We destroyed Bolton. Ecclestone looks exciting, as does Kachlichilick.

However, one thing I noticed was how much these players DON'T pass to each other. Controversial thing to say, but the final ball is not there because players are almost reluctant to release as they're trying so hard to impress every game. Understandable though.

Mike is right. Basically the setup is as follows:

At Liverpool, players normally spend 2 years at the Academy (the under 18's) between the ages of 16-18. After the 2 years, the players are either promoted to the reserve team to 'Melwood' or released. Ince has only done 1 year at the academy and will either get his chance with the reserves next season or be released. Players have been promoted after 1 year - namely Buchtmann and Lauri Dalle Valle. Now the although these 2 have been promoted to 'Melwood', they will probably still play for the Acamdemy (Under 18's). They will however train fulltime with the reserves. Now this was one of the reasons why Eccleston was probably pissed off lasts season and wanted to leave last season. He had got promoted to Melwood but was still playing for the Under 18's.

Players like Bruna came to Liverpool at 16 and went straight to the reserve team as thats one of the things they were promised when they signed (and he said this in an interview)

Kachliwhatever looks OK but he's got a few players ahead of him who are far more advanced/developed than him. Vincent Veijl is one of them who is quite an exciting player. The other is Bruna who has real ability with the ball from set pieces and unlike Pacheco he can pass. Some may laugh at this but I can tell you for a fact he is better at set pieces than any member of our first team squad. But other than his ability from set pieces, he doesn't offer much else. He's still young so he's got time on his side to develop.

If anything, he looks better with the first team as the quality of players around him is higher and this helps him to bring out the best in him. He really needs to improve his end product. He has a ****e shot on him and he really needs to pass the ball at the right time and not shoot.

We should sell him. With a name like that, he won't get anywhere.

John McMahon praised the display of Daniel Pacecho who inspired Liverpool Reserves to their first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at Prenton Park on Wednesday night.
Click here to watch the highlights>>

The Spanish ace played in an attacking central midfield role and was a constant threat.

Gerard Bruna opened the scoring with a deflected free-kick and Jordy Brouwer came off the bench to make it 2-0 when a clearance struck his heel and found the net. Although Bolton pulled a goal back after a goalmouth scramble substitute Alex Kacaniklic made the game safe with a neat finish after good work from Nathan Eccleston.

It was a good start for McMahon’s men at their new home ground of Prenton Park and the coach was pleased with his team – particularly the impact made by Pacheco.

"Dani looked fantastic for us," McMahon told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"He was lively, always wanting the ball and caused numerous problems for Bolton all night.

"It was nice to get the win and I thought we deserved the three points. I said I quite liked playing at Prenton Park so let's hope our winning run here continues.

"It wasn't a surprise to see Bruna score our first goal from a free-kick. He practices taking them four hours a day at Melwood and the lad has got quality.

"Jordy's goal was a great example of putting pressure on the defence and being in the right place to get the rewards.

"It was nice for Alex to get on the pitch and score. It was his first game for us so that will give him a lot of confidence.

"There was a lot of pleasing things about our performance and I thought the tempo was good. As staff we still want more from the boys and there are things we can do better so we will keep working."

Has anyone watching the first few games seen any notable differences between the setup now and what was happening under Ablett? I know it is a bit early to make judgements I'm just interested to see if there is anything obvious to come out of the changes.

much of muchness to my untrained eyes thus far.

What impressed me about his performance yesterday:

                          1) he was played through the centre and for a small bloke coped really well
                          2) he showed leadership, giving advice to other players, motivating etc

                          He needs to improve on:

                          1) his finishing
                          We come not to play.

Did you notice both him and Bruna the 2 most lightweight players on the pitch, were running back a lot too and helping out the defence.

Pacheco looked really good when he dropped a little deeper last night. I really think he best position is as a playmaker rather than a striker. His progress seemed to stall for a while, but know hes really starting to look like a player.

When Mcmahon took over he did mention he wanted to mrror how the first team played, Pacheco and Bruna tracking back is a good example, this is certainly a quality rafa has instilled in the first team and the new regime seem to be doing this with reserves also.
