Great comments from Fernando. His english has improved rapidly so he's clearly trying hard. Gotta love the guy, he says all the right things

Im not worried about his game. He's scored 3 league goals already this season and despite the pressure on him and the fouls being committed on him im very confident that he will have a great season. He loves scoring against West Ham so im looking forward to saturday, hopefully he will have a top game

Do you think the lack of direct competition for his place is having an adverse affect on his game? Maybe if he had real competition for his place he might spark into life alot more, like his first season when there was Crouchie waiting on the bench.
I think that the fact we failed to strengthen significantly and lost Alonso had a pschological effect on a lot of our players - especially the Spaniards who were previously on a high as we improved as a team, their national team won the Euros etc. Now they face a bit of disappointment. Maybe competition would have made him focus more on the need to be on top form - but I'm not sure it is the main factor.

I think Reina's comments the other day about Drogba actually touch on this - we are trying to change system slightly and the problems in doing this affect us more than for Chelsea as Drogba can always be hit by a long ball and play started from there. Torres isn't that sort of player and the lack of that option makes it harder to make adjustments to the team.

To me he just looks slightly less full of the joys of life. Maybe if we start to play better as a team his enthusiasm will return. Hopefully the hatful of goals against Stoke and Burnley will have improved confidence throughout the squad. We have the right sort of schedule this month to really build up a/ a good rapport in the team and b/ confidence so I guess we shall see soon enough if this is just a temporary blip or a problem that needs action to resolve it.

I blame that pesky child he had. The sleepless nights are making him grouchy.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
