Apart from City, did any club actually spend more than 20m this window. I think most clubs only spent what they could generate in sales.
Of course thay were investments but the costs were covered from the alonso arebola and leto sales. Im just saying that we cant be happy with having zero net spend when we ran so close to winning the league. In my opinion we should have signed at least another striker. Hopefully everyone will stay fit, then we will be ok, i just worry that we are a few injurys away from looking weak!!

So if we'd come 4th and a mile off the title it would have been fine and dandy?

You're dissapointed, we came close, we all are ffs, but doesn't change facts as much as it makes it agonising.

Time to stop dwelling, move on, and hope Aquaman and Johnson are enough to make up that little bit.

Why is Aquilani being referred to as Aquaman? It sounds damned silly to me.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That's not important, what is important is that reduce the debt and increase the value of the club so that when Hicks sells up, he makes a fat profit.

Because he's had to train in a pool a lot lately.

Because I always forget how to spell it and don't want to look a cock by getting his name wrong, so I look a cock by using a dodgy nickname instead

I think kev776 used it earlier - it's pretty common (as is kev776).

If this should happen, thats a lot of revenue lost and those that do qualify will go from strength to strength, making it harder for us to get back in. Our revenue will spirall downwards because of it.

Has this actually crossed their minds? Do they not think that our CL position is at risk?
It'll be interesting to see what people say if we actually win the league this season. It's not impossible you know.
                          Oh I don't know.

I'm pretty sure I'm deluding myself but Rafa isn't acting like someone who just had 30m quid nicked off him. At the very least he is at least being involved in these more business type decisions and I get the impression thinks he can work around the constraints.

Chelsea spent £18m on Zhirkov. Who did they sell to generate that?

And in any case, why are we basing what WE do on what others do? Who cares what they do? All that matters is what we do, and we were in the position whereby some decent strengthening on top of what we had, would've made us favourites for the title. It was the best time to do it.

But the yanks ****ed us. Again.

You think Rafa would even see the Mascherano money?
