You only need to look at what Hicks and his gang did to Corinthians in Brazil to see what a horrible man this bloke is.
It doesn't necessarily mean those people 'believe' what Hicks say. It's easy to manipulate figures mate and you have to question why Lecter would pop up just as those figures were out in the open, as he very rarely posts in here nowadays. Some people have agendas, fair enough to them, but this is a biased way of thinking.

I never let bias enter my judgement, I try to stand a middle ground. That's how things should be, unless there's a clear line where you can stand by your point.

In that case, it's certainly not as clear cut as some of you want us to believe. You'll all be very happy if we'd spend like Man. City or Real Madrid, independent of the fact that these clubs don't have a sound financial structure behind them.

      you have anger issues!! lol

I for one am on the fence as far as the yanks go. Yes they have put the club in debt but unless your a mega rich tycoon with more money than sense thats what is needed. The big problem is the financial market collapsing. If we di not have the crash/recession we would be a year into the building of a new stadium.

It was bad timing as far as liverpool are concerned. We have been mega unlucky with the timing of the recession and the take over.

I wait to see what happens as we are slowly climbing out of the recession... then i will judge the yanks.

The only thing he's said that's close to being original is that he decided to spend money extending contracts of the spine the team!!!
If he'd had money, wouldnt he have brought in a backup striker?

The point isnt WHY they put the club into debt, it's about the bare faced lies they peddled.

If you're happy to be lied to, bully for you. Most people usually arent.

We have a match tonight, remember?
Pah, football, always getting in the way of business. When will we learn its all about the sponsorship deals revenue streams???

Sometimes I think the football is just costing the club money.

We aren't the only club in 'debt'.

They've had to buy the club right? For how much? £175m or so? Plus the club were already in debt of around £60m, so I don't see anything wrong in that? There's no evidence that they've put more debt into the club.

Spend the money (Fee+Wages+Agents Fee+Signing on fee) instead of using Voronin for a year? What if that means we can't afford Silva next year? Who was available? At what price? How much better than Voronin is this player? Will he sit on the bench like Voronin/N'gog?

I can see lots of reasons why you wouldn't buy a backup striker even if you had the money.

I can see 2 big reasons why you would, Premier league and Champions league. Totally outweigh the reasons why you wouldn't.

Sorry Fredo you're making no sense.

I don't want to spend beyond our means and I don't want us to get into financial difficulty. I do want owners I can trust and who are working in the best interests of our football club. These pair have lied their way through the past couple of years. They have ****ed the manager off and made our club a laughing stock in the press. I can't trust them and refuse to believe anything that comes out of their gobs.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

The point Being Fredo is they said in their press conference that NO DEBT would be placed on the club.

                          They lied.

He has already bought Benny, Ngog, Babbel, Kuyt and Nemeth (out on loan) maybe some are for the future but Benny (midfielder maybe) Babel and Veronin are the back up choices for Torres.

While Rafa plays his prefered 4-2-3-1 he wont buy another quality striker, it is hard to keep them happy as number 2 to Torres and he already tried with Keane to play 4-4-2 and it failed.

The Mancs lost pretty boy for 80m and replaced his left foot with Valencia, why didnt Slur Alex just buy Ribbery? (he does want him) just maybe he was told No, service the debt

The problem I think is that some people have almost become resigned to their tenure now. Its flagrantly obvious we can't force them out or persuade them to sell up quickly, perhaps were it not for the "global economic downturn" we may have had a chance but that's just not going to happen. I know, SOS and all that, but it isn't, as CraigH keeps repeating the only real way to hurt them is also to hurt the club, stop buying tickets and merchandise on a global level... but that isn't happening either.

It is obvious that they have done some things to improve our global merchandising, sponsorship etc, things which we had let slide massively under Moores/Parry. The problem being that the money generated is currently going to help them pay off the money they used to buy the club, rather than being used for the benefit of the team. As time goes on its not unreasonable to think that we may start to see more than we are now, eventually they'll have paid off the debt.... but in the meantime we may be losing out on our best chances in decades to actually win this league. Had Rafa been allowed a net spend of £15m over the last 12 months, rather than actually being £15m in profit, I think we'd currently be genuine favourites for the title. As it is we're just in the mix instead. I'm not sure anyone can really argue that point, though I'm sure someone will try.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
