whilst I have no time for the yanks they have bought Johnson & Aquailani apart from citeh & Madrid no ones really spent any money and thats exactly what there argument will be, imagine how utd must feel getting £80m for their best polayer and not being able to spend it coz myu guess is that money will virtually have gone to pay off some of the glazers debts whci are pretty huge

Good players cost money, and one of the new regulations mentions that they will be looking at clubs who still owe money for players bought...it doesn't go into specifics tho, but i would assume that most deals are structured so that clubs owe money all round, and they would have to prove that they are not spending outside their means or similar?Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIf we were looking at the new rules surely we would have been looking for good players who would qualify now instead of waiting until next summer. As we'd be in a stronger negotiating position as we'd still have time to go elsewhere

They ****ing lied.Originally posted by fredo View PostThey've taken a loan to buy the club, so it makes sense that the club's revenues are paying for it. Can't understand some of your logic.
That's the logic you're seeking. But then, you think lying is ok and really the fault of the people who are lied to, rather than the liars themselves.

Seriously - people lie every day. Maybe H&G lied deliberately - maybe not, but I am sure that Moore (and anyone else involved in this level of business) knew what they were going to do re debts.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThey ****ing lied.

Are you absoultely sure another buyer would be better?? - even someone like DIC assuming they came in and spent big $$ on players, they would not do this out of the goodness of their heart - it would be debt owed to them by the club, payable at sometime in the future. Abromovich is going to want his money at some point, even the City Arabs could possibly want their $$ back - and why not? At the end of the day these clubs are businesses - sematics aside.
Is the club moving forward or backwards? Because if it is moving forwards towards a better future that is all that is important - isn't it??

I dont care what is happening at any other club. Aquallani and johnson were bought with money the rafa generated from sales. We only needed the `final push` as we were so close last year.Originally posted by wildman View Postwhilst I have no time for the yanks they have bought Johnson & Aquailani apart from citeh & Madrid no ones really spent any money and thats exactly what there argument will be, imagine how utd must feel getting £80m for their best polayer and not being able to spend it coz myu guess is that money will virtually have gone to pay off some of the glazers debts whci are pretty huge

It simply boils down to whether you accept being lied to - i dont. If you do, fair enough.Originally posted by mothman View PostSeriously - people lie every day. Whether the club's moving backwards or forwards depends on how you look at it. We've got better players than before, but we're also not certain that we wont go into administration and we arent financially secure.

But that is not exactly true though is it.Originally posted by wildman View Postwhilst I have no time for the yanks they have bought Johnson & Aquailani apart from citeh & Madrid no ones really spent any money and thats exactly what there argument will be, imagine how utd must feel getting £80m for their best polayer and not being able to spend it coz myu guess is that money will virtually have gone to pay off some of the glazers debts whci are pretty huge
We bought Johnson and Aquailani yes but with money owed for the Crouch deal and Aquailani over a number of years of installments with only a very small down payment (4 mil Euros if you believe the Roma website).
We also sold Alonso, Arbeloa, Leto, Hobbs, Anderson and Hamill. So yes we signed a couple of players but we more than covered their purchases by player sales. If you believe Fergie the reason they never spent their Ronaldo cash is basically because the market is crazy. The money is still there it's just they chose not to blow it and wait until the market calms down. Fergie said himself they were in for Benzema but Madrid payed over what they thought he was worth. So the money they got from Ronaldo hasn't been used to pay off their debt.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

Where does this fear of administration come from? We are in a better situation financially than we were a year ago, and we weren't worried about it then.Originally posted by Craig_H View Postbut we're also not certain that we wont go into administration and we arent financially secure.
Plus, although we owe more now than we did under Moores, we are also in a better position to pay it back.
People talk about "doing a Leeds" but we are not spending outside our means, and i don't believe our survival is CL tied, unlike some.

42 million Euros is to much but has it been 35 million Euros then deal on.
But I bet you'll have an answer for this hey???**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.
