    Yossi Fowler - respect

ok ok he's not really in the same league as God, but at times against Burnley I had flashbacks of Fowler in the way Benni played.

He could have had six goals against Burnley. Not only was he quick and agile in making and receiving passes, he was the most "forward" thinking of all our attacking players. At times he played the creator, at times the clinical finisher and at times he was in the position of the classic goal-poacher.

He threw himself into a diving header and was unluckly, he wasnt offside for the dissallowed goal - Kuyt and Torres were, Benni was in the best position tho'

When Gerrard went on that mazy little jink and hit the post, who was moving in the box waiting for the pass - Benni - ahead of Kuyt and Torres who were ball watching.

I know its a lot to ask and realistically there is no comparison to Robbie at all, but if Benni could put in that level of effort with the same attacking instinct week in week out playing up front just off Torres, he could make a massive difference to us this year.

When a player plays like that consistently, its like having another new striker that we have craved. And yes, that would mean Stevie playing in midifield, but as with the Burnley game, I think Benni playing as he played could be a major cog in drawing Gerrard into good scoring/assist positions also.

    There's my tuppence worth :-)
    'and boy could he play!.

yeah, the direct comparisson is kinda weak, but in spirit I get what you mean. Yossi is a quality player who on this sort of form could really make a difference to us, especially in the sort of games at Anfield we struggled to win last year. He seems to have an excellent understanding with Gerrard and also Kuyt, whose endless running I think allows Yossi that bit of extra space to work in.

How many hat-tricks has he scored now for us? Must be a record in terms of % of total goals.

Yossi did really well, but he was given the freedom of the pitch by both Rafa and Burnley. It is a great role which he performed well at times last season towards the end, but I think at present he is not considered too great a threat and is not a marked man.

Against Burnely the defenders sat on Torres and followed him every which way, leaving Yossi free. I think if Yossi continued to play he may start to attract attention. But I guess that would free up Torres slightly, so it would not be a bad thing!

I think tonight it will be Mascher and Lucas back in CM, but I would have preferred personally for Gerrard to stay there and Yossi to stay behind Torres.
      Forwards.......

If he get's the league cup hat-trick (which is quite probable), that is surely a universal record and a future pub quiz question in waiting.

Has anyone noticed how good Yossi has become in the air all of sudden? I was shocked to see him winning headers not only in the box but on the half way line as well. The key is he never bottles a jump, which puts doubt in the opposing player's leap.
          One tit for another.

The header he put just wide was a great leap. I thought the Madrid goal was just a fluke too.

Three hat-tricks, which is remarkable really.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's thanking me by the way Chris, that ''Waterfggpgfgfpgfgville'' excludes you from the gratitude as you were too slow.

i said before he could well be our player of the season.

but i think he might not get many games when aqua gets fit.

How funny are his wild celebrations with about 4 fans in the stadium.
