That squad will be rubbish, they always just guess. Kelly is at the kids world cup for a start!

Yep, especially if it's the BBC. How an organisation as big, respected and widely-consumed as the BBC can still ****ing guess matchday squads is beyond me.Originally posted by Chris View PostThat squad will be rubbish, they always just guess. Not really aresed about the carling cup - i would like to see us play a weakened side to give the fringe players games and to give some experience to youth, and obv would like to see them win.
Worry that it's going to be a tough game though, and if we were to lose you just no the media will jump all over rafa for fielding a weak team and disrespecting a proud english cup competition - despite the likes of all the other top managers doing similar things
Anyway - I'd like to see this
--------------------Cavalieri----------------------
Degen-----------Kyriakos----Agger(if fit)-----------Dossena
Babel-----------Spearing------Aurelio----------------Riera
-----------------Voronin-----Ngog----------------
With us looking to give the likes of Pacheco, Ayala etc a run outi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

As much as I'd like to see the youngsters like Eccleston, Pacheco, Ayala, Darby etc come through and be given a chance - sadly, you look at the above team and they are effectivley are 2nd XI who will come into the first team as cover/rotation and as such i would prefer it if they were give games for confidence/match fitness etc so when they are called upon at least they might be able to kick the balli own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I think you have to strike a balance - young players will in my view learn most playing with some experienced professionals. In matches like this I think we should look to have a strong team featuring some second choice players but in partnerships and roles we might use them in the PL in future. If we get two goals up them we should look to have a couple of young players on the bench who we can bring on to get experience - again alongside more established players.Originally posted by PTP View PostAs much as I'd like to see the youngsters like Eccleston, Pacheco, Ayala, Darby etc come through and be given a chance - sadly, you look at the above team and they are effectivley are 2nd XI who will come into the first team as cover/rotation and as such i would prefer it if they were give games for confidence/match fitness etc so when they are called upon at least they might be able to kick the ball
I'd think Ayala, Kelly and Spearing as players who have been around the first team for a while would be first in line as youngsters. I'd like to see one of the attacking youngsters too but there is no sense rushing people if Rafa doesn't feel they are ready."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

With us looking to give the likes of Pacheco, Ayala etc a run outThat side should be good enough to win IMO. There is a couple of crocks in there, Degen, Agger and Aurelio so that could be the 3 replacements used right there.Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostThat looks decent to me.

Hopefully not though!
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
