    Aurelio, Benayoun and Lucas

Depending on who happens to be on the field, one of these three must take ALL of our corners. Forever.

Gerrard is an aerial threat and can strike a ball beautifully from the edge of the box - he must stop taking our corners.

But it wont happen, will it?

He wasn't taking them against West Ham was he?

Aurelio (if on the pitch) would be my choice far and away above the others.

Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

About half and half. He should literally never take one though.

      Not even in training

Many of us have been saying for years that big tall Steven Gerrard should be in the penalty box attacking crosses and against West Ham we finally got to see it happen.

In the past Alonso seemed the most obvious choice to take corners but anytime he was asked I noticed him always telling his team-mates that he was going to take up his position outside the box

Gerrard is out biggest and most powerful aeriel threat, we have wasted years having him on corners. Hopefully no more

Just been listening to Jan Molby who thinks that Gerrard should still take set pieces but just needs to practice more.

Gary Mac used to be awesome at set pieces - we always used to score a few when he was taking them and we had the likes of Babbel and Hypia causing havoc in our opponents box.

It's not so much Gerrard's delivery, it's more about his threat being on the end of them.

                I think it's both

We suffer one woeful corner after another with Gerrard, hitting the first man with shocking regularity. You look at our opposition who seem to put every single corner 'on the money' (whatever that means) and at the very least make us defend...keeping us honest. It's such a waste to hit the first man.

Then Yossi or Fabio step up and they're immediately bending wicked balls right into the mixer. Gerrard has to be taken off corner duty, permanently.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It's one of life's great mysteries why Gerrard is generally a poor corner taker. They were abysmal the other week against Debrecen (although he wasn't the only culprit that game).

For me it's hard to choose between Fabio and Insua for the LB position, but the one clear thing that the former brings to the team is set pieces.

Get Gerrard off corners and either Aurelio or Benayoun taking them.

                    Aurelio and Benayoun.

Lucas is pretty good in the air so I'd put him in the box.

Definitely agree about Gerrard, we've all been saying that for years.

Benayoun has struck a few beautiful corners in the last two matches. Leave them to him. It's been fantastic to see Gerrard attacking corners in the last few matches, long may it continue

He gets a lot of pace on the ball without balooning them over the danger area.

I've always agreed that Gerrard should be in the box too. For one he is good in the air and another that he has not exactly been too impressive at corners. But in the past I saw other people have a go and quickly realised why Gerrard took it upon himself tio take them.

Of our whole team I would only say Aurelio is good at set pieces, whilst Yossi has done well in a couple of recent games. The rest are by and large bloody useless. But I put a lot of this down to us lacking height and presence in the box.
                          Forwards.......

I like Aurelio taking our corners. He really whips them in with pace.

Aurelio is our best set piece taker in general.
