    can aurellio replace alonso

I have been thinking and might be going mad.

Aurellio could he play in midfield and replace some of the passing ability of alonso?

only short term until aquillani is fit.

    its just an idea

He could never handle the tackles that Scabby used to get, we need the 5 or 6 red cards he draws each year. Aurellio would be carried off after the first cruncher.

Play makers are the first ones targeted by scum like Savage/Keane and their ilk.

Alonso is gone and was replaced by Aquilani. Our formation has evolved, requiring one of our CM’s to get forward and support the attack, something Xabi unfortunately didn’t offer us. We’ve had a decent enough start to the season, scored more goals so far than in that past 100 years, so I don’t see the benefit in trying to ‘replace Alonso’ with a substandard player.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I wouldn't be altogether shocked to see him start tomorrow alongside Lucas if Mascherano is out as indicated elsewhere.

Thanks for the update, mate. ?
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It was a joke. I'd have thought asking for a source was enough of a clue but I can see now I may have miscalculated.

For certain games, perhaps. Not as a long term replacement.

He could play the odd game but he isn't tough enough to play there often

absolutely - durability would be a big problem as xabi was hard as ****in nails but when we play well, aurelio is a big part of our passing fame

I still laugh when I remember him trying to "stamp off" that broken ankle.

I think he is way to one footed to have a massive impact in the middle of the park. Xabi could use either foot, albeit his right was the stronger whilst Fabio nearly falls over when using his right foot
I make no apologies, this is me
