Too right Rafa got this one wrong, Aurelio and Lucas can't keep the ball and can't pass it when they do get it.

Sorry in advance to all you Lucas lovers.... but he is just not up to it. He's too slow to react and is getting beaten to everything. Aurelio is not much better, but may have an excuse in that its not his position.

Second goal came from a free kick to them just outside their area. We had the ball and Aurelio backheeled it and their player took the most outrageous dive (when we had possession ffs!) which the ref bought hook, line and sinker. But generally our defence and midfield have been poor so far tonight.

Skrtel just looks all at sea....he tries to win every ball and it's as if he doesnt hear anyone else calling for the ball. Johnson could have cleared the cross which led to the second goal but instead Skrtel tried to clear it when he couldnt really get a good connection and just gave them the ball in a more dangerous area.

Rafa's not going to change tactics is he? Way too stubborn for that. I think he'll refine the current set-up and I expect us to play better next half. Definitely get at least a goal back.

What would you suggest?

They're letting us have it up to a point and then they press and break. No tactics will work when you front six can't trap a back of cement we're giving it away for fun at exactly the wrong time. The ball looks like a bouncy ball the way we're controlling it. Dunno wtf is going on, hard pitch maybe?

what a disaster of a first half!

None where up to it, our midfield is outplayed, and insua and Johnson get caught upfield time and again - partly because lucas/aurelio in center mid is giving everything away!

Really hope we see big changes at half time, not least in approach and the ability to make more than two passes at their half!

Rafa has got this wrong big time tonight. He should bring Insua off, put Aurelio to LB, push Gerrard into midfield and bring on Babel on the left, put Kuyt back on the right and have Benayoun behind Torres.

I will be very surprised if he makes any changed though.
