Skrtel is a very average defender, I've been saying it all along. He's not the long term answer for us at all. Always stays rooted to the spot on crosses, has poor awareness and positioning.

He's not poor, just very, very average.

Thats overly critical, but I've long been saying Agger is not only the better footballer, he's also the better defender

Id put Kuyt RM and Benayoun behind torres.

Given how isolated Torres has been and how lightweight Benayoun is, i'd prefer Kuyt's strength in there. Plus the fact that he'd never let their defenders settle.

I think that the players, like me to be honest, didnt think Fiorentina were as good as they have played this evening. I thought it would be tough, but not this tough, and that we would coast to a draw or nick all 3 points. Fiorentina have played excellently and a few of our players, notably Aurelio, Insua and Carra again, have been raped by the pace and desire shown by their opponents.

This game is gone, play better, show some desire, keep injury free and move on because we will need to play a whole lot better to qualify from this group.

I am seriously worried about Carra and Skrtel as so far this season they have been no where near their top form and they are yet to play against a world class forward pairing which is what Dogbreath and Anelka are.
