Thanjk you.

bar his mistake, mascherano was probably our best player. He was absolutely phenomenal.
Yet his mistake cost us the game. If a defender plays well and then makes a schoolboy error to concede a goal, you don't see people saying he had a great match.
Or how about the manager for spunking away £20m on a injured player who was out for 3 months rather than a replacement for Alonso? I am not saying Lucas is the worst player we have just that he is no where near good enough for that position of our team.

His mistake didn't cost us the game ffs. It was in their half and with plenty of time for us to score.

I am happy with Lucas as a player. As far as I am concerned we have not signed a direct replacement for Alonso. The blame falls squarly on the pair of cunts who used the money from Alonso to pay of interest they landed the club with
i dont think anyone can be happy with that replacement, its clear Lucas is not in alonso's class but he did ok today.
Let's get real people, he was never supposed to be the replacement for Alonso. If you want to look at it in that sense then Aquilani is the direct replacement for Alonso. Alonso went out and Aquilani came in within hours of the move.
The key to our title race getting back on track is that Aquilani settles and is as good as many of us hope and expect him to be.
What I will say of Lucas is that he has improved a lot from last season and I expect him to continue to improve. He was the replacement for Alonso and Mascher last year and he may well be in the same situation this season. So give him a break.

our negativity cost us the game today. We started to sit back and that's always dangerous because mistakes happen in football. We should have kept on attacking but we went in with a negative attitude and its hard for players for switch from keeping it tight to full out attack.
Rafa got it wrong today and he has done on many days. He is stubborn and it will cost him and us dear.

I agree. His mistake was the start and put Chelsea on the front foot with a good chance to break. But we still had plenty of chance to block the attack of. Skrtel was not tight enough on Drogba and Carragher should be in a position to clear the ball before it gets to Anelka.
yep and i think Rafa should have played gerrard in the middle from the off imo.
I would much rather wait 3 months to get a fantastic player (i hope) than get a player in who was fit from the start who was not as good as aquiliani.
Gerrard in the middle with Yossi just off Torres.
As for Aquiliani i have never sen him play so don't know how good he is. Just that a direct replacement for Alonso should have been priority. If not play gerrard in the middle were he excelled for years.
Mascherano and Lucas don't have the creativity even between them to make our team tick. With Gerrard going missing as well we are just very dull.
There needs to be a shake up and it needs to happen fast. Because to many players are under performing at the moment.
I agree in general terms, but today we did have chances to score, and even with say, Ronaldinho in the centre of the pitch, you will still struggle to create opening against a very solid Chelsea team.
Let's see how Aquilani does when he comes in. The international break again comes at the right time for him and gets him ever closer to a debut for us.
