    Why oh why....

was our best player so far this season, on the bench for our toughest game?

Benny made an immediate impact when he came on today, he's the only player we have who has the quality and technique to take any team on comfortably. It doesn't matter whose in front of him, the little lad will glide passed anyone and Rafa once again leaves him on the bench.

Totally agree, major cock up on Rafa's part today. Against Chelsea, Gerrard is always predictably invisible and that halves our goal threat immediately. Yossi would've bulked it up a little, Riera was nowhere to be seen.

Rafa often speaks about individual errors making the difference in games like today's.
Well today, he made as big a mistake as any of the players. Big time balls up in team selection.

Gerrard really is **** against Chelsea? In fact he is most of the time against the big times.
Sulky sod goes missing when you need him to do something.

Yossi was piss poor in midweek (so were they all though) and Riera destroyed Bosingwa last season, though obviously we didnt know he'd be out injured! I can see why he done it.

Easy to point out all the mistakes after the game though.

The whole team was piss poor on Tuesday and Riera has been piss poor in every appearance so far this season and most of last season. Benny on the other hand has been our best player this season.

It not saying it after the game, thats bull****, I'm always praising Benny saying he has the best technique in the squad. Its a bit hard to say it before Rafa's named the bloody squad...

Not so much against the mancs, but against Chelsea, he's just ineffective.

What about Aquilani lads? anybody in the know? he's got to be close to being fit now?

I'm not saying he's the answer - just wish he was an option, thats all.

At the end of the day , we'll not be the only team to get beat at the Bridge this year....... i think the secret is to make L4 a fortress again, keep picking up the three points at home, we'll not be far away.

              Keep the faith !!

Aquilani will probably feature in some capacity at Sunderland. If not, the next game is the mancs at Anfield.

The filth game is not for the faint hearted - i don't think it should be the one where he makes his debut - hope we see him against the Makems

(I'm Coming over from the Emerald Isle for the filth game - can't wait)

I was thinking about it and i dont see why he shouldnt play against the mancs, if fit. He's an established player, not a rookie, who's come from a strong enough league and will have played in viciously heated Rome derbys before.

Plus he'll be at home, with 40,000 fans behind him and he'll bring an element of the unknown for the mancs to deal with.

                    I'd play him if he's 100%.

Theres no chance of him starting against Utd, he hasnt played since March, has no pre season and only started running last week was it? Once he is back I'll be amazed if its anything other than cameo's from the bench for a while.

i know he's an established player.......we all know the Roma Lazio games are vociferous on the terraces - but on the pitch, the manc game will be played at 100 mph, Seria A is as slow as ****........A paint drying competition would be more interesting, i've been there, it's crap.

                            Goodison would be more fun.
