4 consecutive wins for the reserves
An action packed game at Tranmere ended with Liverpool reserves claiming their 4th consecutive win in the North section of the league. In a first half in which Liverpool dominated without creating an awful lot, Eccleston should have done better with a couple of chances he had. Most of the attacking intent ame from David Amoo down the right flank.
Saric was replaced at half time by Poloskei, with Pacheco pushing up front, and it took Liverpool a good 10 minutes to reorganise. Burnley (with 43 year old manager Owen Coyle leading the line), created a few half chances and Eckersley should have done better from close range.
Just before the hour the ineffectual Veijl was replaced by Brouwer. Liverpool started to impose themselves. Ecclestone and Threlfall combined to create a great chance for Pacheco, only for him to blast wide.
As the game was nearing a draw Cudierski, who had already been booked sythed down Ecclestone for a second time and was sent from the field.
Liverpool gave it their all and in the 2nd minute of added on time, a blatant handball on the edge of the area gave Liverpool a chance to score a winner. Pacheco stepped up and curled the ball over the wall and away from the keepers reach to win the match
Star PlayerFor me, David Amoo. Player Ratings
Hansen 6/10Could have sat in the stands in the first half. Was a bit more involved in the second half and had one decent save.
Irwin 6/10Steady at the back, didn't do much wrong, but didn't create a lot either.
Darby 7/10Some great challenges on the odd occasion that Burnley attacked. Marshall Owen Coyle extremely well
Ayala 6/10Had a steady game, but like mot of the defence, didn't have a lot to do.
Threlfall 6/10Almost non-existant in the first half, he was more creative after the break. Crated a great chance for Pacheco.
Amoo 8/10Stgrong on the ball, tricky and with pace. He created havoc down the Burnley left side. He created most of Liverpools attacks in the first half.
Spearing 7/10Overshadowed by Pacheco in the first half, came into his own in the second half when Pacheco moved forward. Always a battler, he won a lot of possession for Liverpool.
Pacheco 7/10The creative playmaker in the first half, spread the ball around quite well. Moved up front in the second half. His trickery around the box was nice to see, but should have scored before the great freekick.
Weijl 5/10The game passed him by if I'm being honest. He tried hard, but really couldn't get a grip on the ball.
Saric 6/10Had one good chance, but ballooned it over the bar. Shiowed some good touches, but was rightly replaced at half time.
Eccleston 7/10Very lively around the box, had a few great chances in the first half that he should have done better with. Moved out wide as the game went on, and lost a bit of effectiveness.
Poloskei 5/10Made his debut tonight, and needs time to adapt to the physicality of the English game. Too often was forced off the ball.
Brouwer 6/10Not a bad game from the Dutch lad. If he possessed some pace he could have caused all kinds of trouble to the defence. But he doesn't, so didn't.
Manager RatingGood changes, decent attacking play. 7/10
Opponent RatingHard for the reserve manager to influence play when the first team manager is playing centre forward, but he did his best. Burnley were quite defensive throughout, but almost got a point.

he would make a good foil for someone in the championship etc. but certainly not premiership class.
