    Are Bordeaux Any Good?

Dont know anything about them to tell you the truth.

Putting our form to one side for a minute, under normal circumstances would we go there confident of getting the 3 points or would a draw be sufficient?

Would be happy with a draw myself, but a 2 or 3-0 win would be a nice little confidence booster for Sunday.

I would class them as a Portsmouth or Charlton

as in capable of turning us over

The way we are playing it makes no difference how good or poor the opposition is. We can beat, or be beaten by anyone.....

Well if the rumours of Gerrard being unfit are true, with Momo, Kuyt and Agger also supposedly not reay to come back yet, then i think we may have some problems.
Our senior players have been letting us down so far this season. Look un motivated. Think bordeaux will be really up for this one.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Was reading the beeb's preview of the game and interesting facts were:

We have had 1 win and 6 defeats in 7 European games in France - does not exactly bode well for us...

Though Bordeaux have never beaten English opposition in four games...

Tbh, i can envisage a performance from the team similar to the one we got against Deportivo a couple of years ago, where our team was missing players and the unheralded people rose to the occasion.

                Would be nice, anyway

Its these sort of away games in Europe that our squad needs to come into play, with the game at OT on Sunday I'd rather Gerrard and some others weren't starting anyway. Remember Biscan in Spain in 2004? A draw would be fine, and I think we'll get that.

I think it'll be a tough game tomorrow night.

With Gerrard out we'll be looking at others to take the lead role and bring the others out of the shells - Carra will be captain so I'm hoping for a great defensive display from him. Alonso will be the playmaker in the middle so he'll hopefully also perform on the night.

My main worry is scoring goals at the moment. Kuyt looks like he's out, and Fowler is also struggling apparently, so it'll be Crouch and Bellamy up front then. Bellamy now has two in his last two games (LFC and Wales) so should be full of confidence and I'm hoping it continues for him out in France.

A clean sheet would be great after some horrible defensive displays this season, and would give us confidence going into Sunday, along with at least a point out there.

I think Bordeaux are an inconsistent team, like us of late, so are very unpredictable, and they have Smicer and Dalmat out apparently. They've won 5 and lost 4 of their 9 league games this season and lie in 5th place at the moment. I believe they're there for the taking and if we get the first goal then we'll win!

We need to win tonight, otherwise we'll have zero margin for error in the 2 remaining home games.
