When did Morgan become a director of LFC!

Reds director gives bus to children's charityOct 17 2006

    Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL FC director Steve Morgan answered a call for help from children on Merseyside.

His charity, The Morgan Foundation, runs the Smiley Bus Scheme which aims to distribute minibuses to charities across the region.

The first beneficiary of the scheme is the Barn-stondale Centre in Wirral which gives children from urban communities the chance to enjoy holidays in the countryside.

Mr Morgan, founder of Redrow Homes and chairman of The Morgan Foundation, officially presented the bus at The Barnstondale Centre and said: "We are delighted to support organisations doing such good work to improve the lives of young people in the Merseyside area."

George Jones, manager of Barnstondale said: "We thank the Morgan Foundation for its generosity which has given the Centre a tremendous boost in its commitment to providing the best possible service to the young people who really depend on us."

he has always wanted in on the board and moores has refused.

          being a shareholder doesn't mean you're a director
          interesting

He definitely hasn't been on the board before. Probably just a mistake because him getting a seat in the boardroom would have to be made public anyway.

Could this be a pr stunt before an announcement from the club on investment? Or a cock up by the paper?

                        cock up
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Yeah, that's just a bit of journalistic lameness I reckon.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                          Mine angry and defrauded young?

Yeah would think they assumed it based on the fact that he is the third largest shareholder.

I've put this on Koptalk, see if anyone has any ideas.

I'd credit the source (not just Liverpool Echo, but Est 1892), but I might get locked out!
