Rafa sounded like he was out of ideas. This depresses me, because I don't think this disaster of a season is mostly his fault.

I think the fact he's started to throw the kids in is almost his last throw of the dice. Strange that Spearing & Kelly both started in each of the last two games. Baffles me why he didn't introduce them last season when we were crusing games or even in to come off the bench when we wanking over stoke, hull burnley etc.

Its a big ask when confidence is so low. Kelly looked imense and Spearing not so but it was a tough away game playing alongside the inexperienced Lucas.

I'd play them both against Utd. Spearing for Lucas. Home game against the arch enemy, local boys, fighting spirit. Mascherano and Gerrard to give him some experience.

Last summer we got keane and riera, can't remember signing anyone in January and this summer he spent around 35m and recouped that in sales. Plus he was never given the funds from the keane sale to reinvest in the squad! So basically we have just added a left winger to our squad

We can't be blaming Rafa here when its the yanks that are shafting everyone.

but rafa signed keane and then played him wide, on his own and finally on the bench. rafa ****ed up on keane, either he hadn't watched him before to know how to play to his strengths or he just didn't like him.

This is often said, but he has made plenty of questionable transfers too. Selling Keane in January without a replacement was just nutts. Personally, I think we needed a decent striker with the £17m we spent on Johnson, Babel should've been traded in, and purchasing a replacement for Alonso who's not kicked a ball since March was odd to say the least.

we didnt have ANY funds from the sale.. the fact that we paid £20 million and got £16million back in january, showed we still owed them £4 million.

This is how the debt it built up in football clubs.. i may be very wrong, but i highly doubt £20 million is paid off straight away.

But at the beginning of the summer we seemed to be in for tevez, negredo and villa. It appears the funds were there at the beginning of the transfer window but not after the owners refinanced.

Aquilani could turn into some player yet and if he does no one will be questioning rafa's judgement then. Plus when we did sign aqualini I think he was expected back end of September rather than now.

We all know rafa hasn't been backed sufficiently and injuries to 3 or 4 key players proves that
