would it matter how long he has been out? the feel good factor and confidence he would bring would light our team up IMO. just as booby robson did at newcastle. redknapp has at spurs. fergie does at united. age and time out mean nothing in football.

Maybe but the new manager buzz wears off fairly quickly!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Never in a million years will Kenny return as manager. He isn't that stupid and IMO, he hasn't got the credentials to be our manager. Football has changed.

Feelgood factor, my arse. Wait till after 10 or so games if you'll all be revering Kenny as a king, you fickle fans, I bet not.

My shortlist in order of preference:

          Capello
          Hiddink
          Maurinho

I don't think any are really attainable so Rafa wins for the time being, if this **** form continues though...
          We come not to play.

Just the fact Nemeth was allowed to go on loan when he was a ready made backup for Torres/Kuyt doesn't bode well for Rafa's sense of decision making. I'm not calling for Rafa's head yet, but at the end of his sixth term (i.e. in the summer) I more than likely will be.

Not sure how you can possibly know that of a player who has never even played a competitive first team game for us. Plenty of players have looked very good at reserve level only to not make the grade when given the chance in the first team.

That is true but surely he was worth a try when you look at what we have got ie Ngog and Voronin.

I'd say both Ngog and Babel looked much closer to being ready for the first team in preseason.

Also if he had one bad appearence he'd be getting torn apart on here like Spearing was last eariler in the week and Ngog (by many) after last night. These players are good in the reserves but playing in the Premiership or Champions league takes time to adapt and develop.

This really isn't the time to bring in youngsters with the form we're on at present, a bad performance (even though it's not their fault because everyone else is playing woefully) could set their development back.

I know what you are saying but look at Kelly last night. Youngster with little experience and actually showed more passion and was one of the better performers when compared to his older, more experienced team mates.

I didn't see a lack of passion last night, just a bunch of players low on confidence.

Confidence, passion, it was all missing for me. To me, we didn't fight like some Premiership clubs do when they come to us, where they up their game to a level as if their future depending on it. I did not see that from our boys last night, you that almost trying too much.
