Pennant Interview from the Guardian

I think that Pennant was one of the players referred to in the Tomkins meeting.
He isn't he sharpest knife in the cutlery drawer. He tells various stories of players who, despite big reputations, surprised senior Reds by their lack of understanding of what they were asked to do,
like he didn't score at Liverpool. He spends more time on the bench at Tottenham than he did at Liverpool.Peter Crouch is scoring now.
Pennant had a lot of promise, but simply doesn't have the attitude, work ethic and intelligence to be a success anywhere.

Pennant needs to look at himself, rather than discuss how Liverpool are getting on. Or Rafa's management style.
The man has won a lot of titles, by being the way he is. So why should he change?
Rafa put his faith in him and paid a lot of money to get him to the club, only for him to get 'above his station'.
If you want to work with the BEST you have to come UP to their level, not try and drag them to your level.

All that confirms is that Pennant doesn't have the discipline to play for a top club. If Zaragoza reach the heights that a club of it's size is perhaps capable of I will enjoy to watch Pennant fail. Also a bit strange because Marcelino the Zaragoza boss is apparently the most strict, tactically rigid, "attention to detail" managers in Spain and has been dubbed the new Rafa on several occasions.

I dunno, I thought he was our best player on the day. HE wasnt the awful signing some are making out.
Crouch clearly wasnt wanted after being made about 3 or 4th choice with one up front. HE really doesnt have the pace or strength to play as a loan striker. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
