Brilliant stuff from the team and Rafa. Got it right with risking Torres and the crucial selection of Aurelio who really helped Insua against Valencia. Everyone did their part but I thought certain players were absolutely outstanding... Agger, Benayoun, Mascherano and, I have given Lucas a lot of stick, and he will lose his place when Aquilani gets fit, but he was immense today. Well done Lucas Leiva. Putting pressure on their back line when required. These games are made for him.

Man of the match, Jamie Carragher. Towering performance. Him and Agger have to be first choice now.

Torres was clearly not fit. I said this to my mate after about 20 minutes. But two critical moments, his wonderful goal and the clearing header from Berbatov, were brilliant. Delighted for David NGog, nice way to finish the game.

The three points against them is great, but what price the confidence boost for the entire squad. Onwards and upwards.

thing with Aurelio is when he's crap he's crap but when he's on form he is brilliant....only ever seen this on the odd occassion......too often been injured

It was def. the best performance I have seen from him in the red shirt! Just shows how much quality he has if he can stay injury free and get some matches under his belt.

Can't help to think that it actually helped him being on the wing rather than the back today, seemed to cope better with less defensive responsibility.
