Having said that, people use 'murdered' in the same context without any problem...
I'm not defending either term but they are both standard football phrases uttered daily in every training ground.

It's like asking fans to go to games and not chant abusive songs etc... in an ideal world neither instance would happen but we don't live in an ideal world

Raped - despoiled, robbed or damaged, to plunder....like the land can be raped...a word with duel meaning, so using it in the sense "he got raped there" is perfectly acceptable.

Referring to Paul Ince as 'Sambo' on the training ground used to be perfectly acceptable too.
        Oh I don't know.

Violence has no place in football, unless its against a manU fan.

Acceptable to who? But thats a totally different argument to the usage of the word raped to mean something other than an actual rape in the sexual meaning

So is it acceptable for Blackburn players to call Christian Samba 'Sambo'?

Unfortunately society's general perception of the word rape is of a sexual nature and that is also i am sure the intent of the comment in the majority of cases. Which means in my opinion it is not an acceptable thing to say, especially on an internet forum that is apparently regulated.

I wouldn't like to say. Do they?

Would it be like calling a 'Paco', '****'?
                    Oh I don't know.

the police seemed to be dealing with an incident involving Neville being abused while warming down. Since when did that become an offence?

Somebody called him ugly, but was ****ting him with a baseball bat at the time. The Police arrested the steward trying to stop it.
