    2. this is october - the league is not lost.
    3. if we don't have our best players fit and ready for lyon AWAY we will lose and go out of the CL.
    4. if we go out of the CL the Yanks will have to make the interest payments themselves, cos the club can't cover it
    5. rafa had to make a call - trust his players to keep it at 1-1 and have torres and benayoun at their max for lyon AWAY or let them run themselves into the ground for a goal that may not come and not have that extra 10% in ther tank for ****IN LYON AWAY WHERE HIS CALL IS THAT WE HAVE TO WIN OR WE ARE OUT OF THE CL!!! SEE POINT 4!
    6. horrible gutwrenching situation to be in with added injuries and bad luck. a day to forget but a few ins for us, a result against lyon and the odd dropped couple of points for the teams above us and we'll forget today. all is not well at LFC i know but we can't afford to sack rafa finacually anyway and why the **** do people think that kenny dalglish is going to turn this season, our finances and the ownership situatio around one third of the way through a season? it's sentimentality and premature desperation gone mad.

I wonder if the Yanks had a word about the importance of CL football to the club

because he's our best player? if he hadn't started torres what would people be saying?

ok - given all the advice being handed out regarding what rafa should've done, can someone post an alternative plan regarding fit players, substitutions and the CL game against lyon? it'll all be based on things that could happen or might happen which is making a call whicvh is waht rafa did today. we may not like it but subbing torres didn't - or at least shouldn't - cause us to concede.

We know what people'd be saying if he'd left Torres out - it's happened before and he got crucified. As it transpires he's being crucified anyway, which is absolute proof - he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

              4. if we go out of the CL we categorically have no money to strengthen in january.

              Finally! A sensible poster!

Am I happy here = NO. Do I feel gutted = TOTALLY. Should Rafa be Sacked = NO NO NO!!

i cannot believe the knee jerk reactions to this game - its the same as when we lost to Lyon 1 - 2. The world and his wife we're ringing 5 Live to put the boot in! People questioned Rafas decision to take Benni off in that game - just like they are doing the exact same thing during the match at Fulham!

Like bad piggy says! Fulham are NO MUGS! Roy H at Fulham has them playing very well and I always thought we'd struggle. I suggest a few of you read the interesting article in today Saturday Times (see link). I am personally through with reading the **** peddled on some Red Tops and also on some Football Sites. Its a gold fish bowl environment, people watching your every move.... Funny how last season Arsenal couldn't find a win for love nor money and they were calling for Wengers head! Now, he's the best thing since sliced bread....

FACT - Last season we over achieved. You'd have thought the Yanks would put their money were their (HUGE!) mouths are!! Suffice to say Rafa got screwed over in the transfer market! (IMO!)...

FACT - CL Game mid week at Lyon is a MUST WIN! And of course Rafa is playing the odds... trying to juggle his team accordingly to get a point at Fulham and then prepare for Lyon.

FACT - Voronin and Babel are not fit to wear the shirt! But, when you have owners who talk a good game... bt when push comes to shove they (**** off!) dont deliver!!

FACT - As much as I loved reading when might be in for Juan Mata - we won't get him, unless some miracle happens.

FACT - We're papering over the cracks, we have a world class managing who has a few world class players.... but when you look beyond those players, we are found wanting... and I mean seriously wanting.

FACT - Aquilani looks a decent player.

FACT - You Rafa Bashers really need to take a dose of strong hard reality. Like I said post Lyon and Pre Manure - We need to back the manager. He's managing with one hand tied behind his back...

FACT - Get rid of Rafa - And watch a whole host of top line players at LFC as to go... or look elsewhere, Torres to Juve/Inter/AC (It could happen!) One of the reasons he came to LFC was because of RAFA!

I cant believe we've lost... but as its been said, its only October. But hey, lets all act like lemmings and jump off the cliff as theres no hope! Of course theres hope! When theres a chance - then there's hope!

Sorry to bang on about it! But 2005, were you all throwing in the towel!? Baying for Rafas head then????? - But he turned it around, and we got back in the game.... Rafas playing the percentages with a squad thats not as strong as out rivals (see no finance from the Yanks!) and a first team with a number of key players out!

GIVE THE MAN A BREAK!!! But like it says at the end of the article in todays Times (see my link above) "But most importantly — the money. Our figures show that Benítez outperforms the wage bill. Blame the Americans. Not Rafa."

first of all, sacking the manager during the season is not an option for me. he's gotta be assessed at the end of the season.

but players don't follow the manager out of the door - just look at chelsea.

rafa has to take full responsibility for players who don't perform like babel and voronin. nowt to do with the owners.

the root of the problem is the defence. we're in shambles at the back, we're too easily overrun and caught out of position. shocking, absolutely shocking.

talk of us not being able to make the top four and all is premature. last season people were saying the same but didn't happen, did it?
but things will need to improve massively and quickly. we will now learn what rafa - and the players - are made of.

fact is torres/gerrard/masherano/reina could earn more elsewhere, we owuld be left with vrononin, Babel et al who are overpaid on tenner a week

i've been going to games since Jan1st 1985, Watford away, i can't even be bothered to watch them on TV much these days

it all depends on who would take over from rafa, don't you reckon?
the likes of reina and torres play for lfc not for rafa.

Now, of course, they're slating him anyway.
He looked absolutely fine, was bemused as to being taken off.

I would agree in taking him off had we been leading, no problem, but at 1-1 it was pure stupidity when theres already a large gap between us and the top.

The Benny for Ecclestone was just as if not more insane.

                                I hate football sometimes
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
