if you want to sack rafa for not being able to build a squad in 5 yrs while still not getting his targets and not getting the same money as chelsea/scum thats some peoples thoughts

but dont sack him ten games in when we have had not been able to play anymore than prob 6/7 of our first teamers at any onetime ....its like we have creative-itis ......anyone with a creative bone is struck injured sure benni will get it next

I'm not so sure about that.

Now I should say that imo sacking any manager mid season is just silly, and generally I've always been behind Rafa, but we simply cannot be certain what is going on behind the scenes at Anfield. We are, by anyone's standards, underperforming this season, yes we've got injury problems, yes we got a bit screwed over in the summer by our owners debts etc etc, but the body language of the big players does not look good to me.

Perhaps Rafa did bring them to the club etc, but playing devil's advocate, can we really be that sure Torres, Reina and Gerrard would leave if Rafa moved on? (those are the only 3 I'd be all that concerned about). There's about 0.1% chance we'd get him, but what if someone like Hiddink came in, would they all be clamoring to leave then? I just don't think they would.

Ultimately no-one should ever be bigger than our club, not a player nor a manager. In no way should Rafa be getting the boot right now, and he's getting blamed for some things that I don't think are really his fault, however the teams he is putting out are not performing adequately on regular occasions this season, and something is going to have to give sooner or later unless there is a remarkable turn around, starting at Lyon.

We'll finish fourth no problems. We have the BEST team in the country now that Ronaldo and Tevez have left. And probably even then. However, good call, that Rafa's squad is p*ss poor, partly because of the yanks. But lets not forget, before the yanks stopped the money Rafa has always picked p*ss poor squad players too. The culmination of all these things is now being felt.

So where do we go from here? Rafa needs to use this unsuccessful season quickly bringing through Ecclestone, Amoo, Nemeth (suidical decision to let him go on loan). If those players get playing time in the league I'll be happy-ish going into next season. Wenger's been getting his charges ready for years.

We know what people'd be saying if he'd left Torres out - it's happened before and he got crucified. As it transpires he's being crucified anyway, which is absolute proof - he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

But why take him out Shaggy? What's he resting him for? If it's Lyon on Wednesday then he's just thrown in the towel in the Premier League. Having a fully fit Torres will be no use in the second half of the season as our league season will be over.

It's ok people coming on here and dreaming that Chelsea, Arsenal, the scum and City are all going to drop points 7 to 10 points each at the same time, but for them all to do that as well as for us to go on an unbelievable winning is simply denying all the odds. If you ask a bunch of neutrals how many would say we have a chance? Let me put it this way. People can hope all they want. The chances of us recovering now are very slim. One or two players and Aquilani are not going to suddenly turn us into world beaters. Rafa has not learned from five years in the Premier League. The one season, last season, that we started well, we finished second. All his other seasons we were out of it by Christmas and our form in the second half of the season made no difference. Same this season.

Presume you would have been the same if he came off on for the last 30mins? to be Rafa did what we all asked for.......played him from the start with the hoping of leading then take him off. He didnt save him for lyon, he wasnt fit to play 90. Gauarantee if he played for 90 and limped off after 80 and was out for a month people would be pissed with the gaffer for that as well.

in my opinion he did exactly the right thing with torres would prefer an hr tonight and the same on wednesday to an injured torres for sure.

we're not going to have a great time until after christmas IMHO.

Without QUALITY backup to the first team, we're weaker in a competitive league. not rocket science.

Rafa has overhauled the squad on a relatively reasonable budget. not rocket science.

Rafa can't get the second string to play anywhere near what the first are capable of. Why is this?

We are so p1ss poor without a 3 or 4 'first teamers' its untrue.

that will be the undoing of rafa. unless he can fix this, we won't win the league with him. the second half of last season is now looking like a stroke of luck rather than a master plan. that is very depressing.

There was nothing wrong with him though (by the look of him) and he and Benny were our only real goal threats...and he took them both off.

All excuses I think from people who'll support Rafa's decisions regardless.
