Haha, my immediate thoughts too. I really don't get why getting his name right is so difficult- or where the "e" comes from. It's not like it even sounds like it has an "e" in it.

Don't rate him at all & cannot see why we didnt bring the unmentionable Judas back with the money we couldve got from Hertha from him, despite being less that what we were holding out for. I can see why Rafa kept him rather than no option at all though.

While Toshack was an odd call I think there is a case for there having been average players in very successful teams. The difference is often that they do specific roles well or can cover many positions. Voronin hasn't really show either capacity for us.

That said in the last few games I think Voronin has contributed fairly well. He's not someone I really love to see on the teamsheet but he has put in a shift and not been ****. I think if he regained the confidence he obviously had in Germany in front of goal he could be useful to us during this injury crisis.

Confidence is a big issue with Voronin, his football brain can't be so bad because he gets into good positions consistently, and seems to be able to play with almost any partner, it's just his finishing that's been woeful, as you say regaining his confidence would help, or even just a bit of luck in front of goal.

He'll never be a superstar granted, but he is ceratinly capable of scoring a few goals.

I thought Voronin contributed to a good performance. He was poor in front of goal but if you ask me he is a goal or two shy of being exactly as useful as Keane was to us last season. I know that's not a particularly lofty aim but it is an achievable one and would at this stage be useful while we wait for Torres and Gerrard to get fit.
