I know - it's putting it slightly on the line, but he does play few games for us, and half the time he plays further up field. I just think it's a bit much saying he has been our best left back looking at his career here so far.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

But I honestly think Riise got far to much stick in his last season here, and got blamed for way more than he was responsible for. It's a bit like the slacking of Lucas currently, when he almost gets the sole blame for a poor form on most players part.Comment

The problem with Riise was that he was neither fish nor fowl - he wasn't classy enough in attack or dependable enough defensively. He was a very good player but he was too inclined to look for low odds long balls and not pass short and quick into midfield and lacked the pace to recover when he got himself into advanced positions.
I worry a bit that Insua may have some of the same failings but is young and could well iron them out.
