few reasons, bad luck, not a good enough squad to rotate/rest certain players and ****ing internationals interfering

to be fair, from last season we were right in the mix even with our budget, the problem is though when you get tha close you have to gamble and we didn't - fortune favours the brave, due to our budget we will never take that leap/gamble to go a step further.

It's just that when Rafa talks about injuries on the offal he rarely mention Dossena... But you could be right. I just don't understand it...

I know we have. But with the amount of corners we have every game, shouldn't we be scoring more? Is any team worse than us on a corner/goal ratio?

I accept bad luck. Rotation/rest to an extent. But the internationals? I know Torres and Gerrard has returned injured a couple of times from the internationals. But surely England and Spain don't train in a way that only injure our players regularly?

to be fair, from last season we were right in the mix even with our budget, the problem is though when you get tha close you have to gamble and we didn't - fortune favours the brave, due to our budget we will never take that leap/gamble to go a step further.
But last year we punched 20% (IMO) above our weight and this year 10% (IMO) under. What gambles would we have taken if we were brave?

Hull at home and West Ham away as pointed out by PTP. Think we've scored another one too but can't remember, I'm sure we had four.

Dossena has been injured as has Aurelio. Insua has had to play. But he looked much improved against Lyon at the back and did little wrong against Birmingham, where his crossing let him down.

Because we came second last year and every neutral would agree we are at least the second biggest club in England and one of the biggest in the world.

Skrtel started badly but has improved since the Chelsea game IMO where he was fantastic. I'm not sure he's done much wrong since then, but maybe people can point out some specific examples?

If we make the CL knockout stages yes. So probably not.

Yes they are. But as soon as Rafa loses the croud he'll be out the door.

No such thing mate. Just take it on the chin and roll with the punches. Performances in the last two games have been much better and we have shown signs we are getting back into form. Only thing missing in our game is a bit of confidence. Sort out our set pieces and we'd be fine.

He had a great game against Lyon and did okay yesterday. Just poor crossing in general. But he wasn't the only player who put rubbish crosses in all game. Aside from that he let Benitez drift in unchallenged, but he thankfully ran off side.

He is a young player and hit attention and perception is not the best - like every young player. He has had a bad run of form but he's coming through it. When he gets trough it you'll see a very good attacking full back.
