I met him once at the airport, he was in front of me in the security, he's the only person I've ever seen duck to go under the detection machine, chatted to him for a while and got his autograph for my daughter, who hero worshipped him. A real gentlemen I thought.
Would love to see him back with us and was gutted when we sold him.

I sat on the opposite side of the isle to him on the BA shuttle from Heathrow to Manchester while he was playing for us. I swapped my seat with a kid on the row behind (about 12 or 13) who wanted to get an autograph. He was chatting **** at Crouch for the full 30 odd mins and Crouch was chatting back, talking about the kids footy team and stuff. Was very impressed by the big guy, a top bloke.

A bit gutted to be perfectly honest......
Crystal ball stuff, but certainly possible.

Crouchie always appeared genuine when in interviews and never seemed to take himself too seriously....funny bloke too...loved his response when asked what he'd be if he wasn't a pro footballer...his reply was..."a Virgin"

In the past weeks I've wished that Baros, Ciise, Pongolle, Bellamy and even Kewell were still here. But Rafa was right to ship out the lot.

On another note I would have liked Rafa to have tried Crouch up top with Torres as I think they would have done well, but as a replacement for Torres, Crouch does not fit the bill as he isn't mobile enough.
sorry but thats garbage...crouch is a damn site better than the rubbish rafa has signed other than Torres

i bet if he knew about the amount of games torres would miss through injuries he would have stayed.

Not good enough for a club that's never won the league and aside from one or two seasons have come nowhere near close to winning it?
Like what exactly do people mean when they say not good enough for Liverpool or not Liverpool standard?? whatever way you want to put it.

Some Bollocks spoken on here, He wanted to go because he wanted to play every game to give his England career support but fair play he's not Torres by a long way so had to move on.

OK so we're struggling at the moment but he's not the answer to our prayers. He's ok in a performing team. Non effective at Portsmouth and can't get a start at Spurs.

But an honest man and likeable.

                            Never heard that before, quality

I like the bit in the first clip where Kuyt stabs the ball back in the net as he runs to congratulate Crouch, it's akin to pissing on your victim after you've beaten him up*

Crouch was most certainly good enough to play for us and his goalscoring record for us backs that up.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
