If we are going on peak performance, Markus Babel would be ahead of Finn as he offered much more going forwards. Also, I'd take God (or even Satan perish the thought) ahead of Dirky boy.

The thing that's the most obvious to me is that we've had alot of strength through the middle and at the back the wings are a nightmare to pick anyone decent for. Wingers/wide players aside I'd see:

I really struggle to think of wide players from the last 10 years that deserve to be in such a team, I guess candidates could be Berger, Smicer, Murphy, Kewell, Garcia, Kuyt, Riera, Benayoun. Some of whom aren't really suited to that position (benayoun) others would have been more suited to it but played wide roles in a 442 (Berger), some have been effective without excelling, others either haven't been suitable for it, haven't been good enough or whatever.

No Vegard Heggem in these picks...when he was fit, he was an amazing fullback, fantastic going forwards and pretty good defensively too. I'd pick him ahead of Finnan and Babbel easily i think.

I always saw Heggem as more of a wing back than a fullback he was good going forward, but not that great defensively, Although he was always considered more of an attacking player than Babbel, Babbel had a better goals record:
Babbel 6 goals in 71 games
Heggem 3 goals in 65 games
Also Babbel played a huge part in the treble of 2001
so I'd stick with him
