Ngog off to the African Nations????

I apologise first as the quote from Ngog is in the rag

Liverpool striker David Ngog has been approached by Cameroon to play for the African country.

Ngog, who has played for France from Under 16 level through to Under 21, qualifies for Cameroon through his father.

Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen is keen for Ngog to change his allegiance ahead of the African Cup of Nations and World Cup.

If Ngog decides to play for Cameroon it could leave Liverpool with problems in attack for January as Cameroon are involved in the African Cup of Nations in Angola at the turn of the year.

Ngog admits he is flattered by the approach and he is now considering his international future.

"I have had contact with the Cameroonian federation. Now I need some time to think about things. I'm very flattered," Ngog told The SCUM

Good for him, hopefully we'll have a decent back-up striker and won't need him. Be a great experience for him.

If he goes to the African nations cup I guess that means we have to keep Voronin

If he chooses Cameroon while he's got a gaping open chance to claim a striker spot for himself at the club, then he'd be a fool to accept. Once Torres is back and other strikers possibly bought, chances like these will become few and far between.

He should accept as of next year, knowing that this is an incredible chance for him to make his mark at the best club in the world.

Am sure Cameroon will still want him next year

Apart from Benzema there is hardly a huge amount of young french attacking talent that springs to mind, He should stick with the cheating frogs

I dont think he'll accept for a few years yet at least, but he doesn't want to sound rude in rejecting out of hand at this time.

I think if he develops at the same rate, he can replace Gignac in a couple of years. He has a great rep in the Under 21 which should also help his cause.
