Liverpool v Citeh - Match Thread

Liverpool are without Glen Johnson for their lunchtime kick-off against Man City, though Steven Gerrard starts. Listen to live from 12.15pm GMT.
Johnson is not fit enough to make the squad but Fabio Aurelio, Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun all make the bench.

Gerrard returns for his first start since mid-October.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Babel, Ngog. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, El Zhar, Aurelio, Riera, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos.

Big dodgy at RB then. Skrtel was a liability out there last time, so Im assuming it will be Carra who plays out there today?

So usual formation, with Carragher at right back and Babel on the left then?

Interesting the lack of strikes on the bench. Voronin has packed his glittering trainers?

Can see this being a bit edgy until the last 30, when we bring on Aquilani, Aurelio and Benny and look like a completely different team

Oh I don't know, I think they look quite even.

The match is going to be won in midfield and the player I worry about the most on their team is Ireland if he has a good game.

I've got Adebayor in my fantasy team and that says it all really.

                          Pony tail strain.

In fairness if we need to change things around up front we can bring on Yossi and stick Kuyt or Babel up top.

                          God help us.

If he's not injured, given we have no strikers on the bench, it looks as though he has no future here
