Quite simply, you don't.

He can't get match fit if he keeps getting left as an unused sub. That's happened in 3 or 4 games now. Don't see the logic behind it.

Its madness, he must be fit enough to play if he's on the bench so why not bring him on. Its not like Rafa would be attempting to fix something thats not broken at the moment is it.
