the other two teams in the group spanked them in both their games and we just manage a 1-0 win in both games.

Really fear for Rafa, because I'm an idiot I've still got faith in him. A ****e display against Everton will test that though. Some serious questions need to be asked.

From what appeared to be a moderately difficult group we should have got 2nd place relatively easily at least but are outclassed by Fiorentina, were unlucky against Lyon with late goals (but should have finished both games off by then) and, most depressing of all struggled against the group whipping boys who normally have an annual transfer budget capable of buying one tenth of Aquilani.

Real at home last season seems like a lifetime away and currently feels like Houllier Redux.

That £20m we are spending on Aquilani seems to be a good investment so far! FFS even Owen on a free would have done. Gerrard and carra begged rafa to sign him but he didn't.

We better get our act together. I am sick and tired of watching our midfield with no guile and invention. The lack of playing time for Aquilani is astonishing.

And as for our senior players - Dirk Kuyt has been staggeringly **** today. Back to his 2007- 2008 form. If he continues the same way into December, then he has had 0.75 decent seasons out of 2.5 season. I expect better from an attacking player who is a guaranteed starter.
