Scary thought but I find myself agreeing with you Pabs

Slightly off topic perhaps in this thread but I would like us to look at 4-3-3 at times this season because with Pacheco/Kuyt/Maxi/Babel (if he stays) and Cole we now have plently of players who caould play either side of Torres
According to .no he said after the Spain match that his confidence needed the boost because he didn`t know his standing at LFC. Apparentaly his unsure anbout his future at LFC, and even more so after the change of manager. Hopefully Roy will sit down with him when when he returns to the squad and give him the reassurance he needs.

if you're good enough you're old enough.

with all the hysetia surrounding this lad i'd be expecting a big break thgrough at some point this season. if he doesnt make a break into the first team fold ( by which i mean play at least 10 prem games htis year ) i doubt he is a as good as is being made out and maybe time to sell him on. look at nemeth, the next big thing, better than fowler, gonna be our new owen, didnt cut it.

Personally I'll be gutted if we don't keep hold of him.

Me too but I think that given the current squad make up a season on loan might be a good option. He needs to be playing competitive football against men rather than boys at this stage I think (even if he isn't ready to start every game). I have a feeling that there will be a lot of pressure on our squad this season and much like last season it will be hard to blood young players and harder than usual for them to cope if they are given a chance.

Thing with Pacheco is when he gets given regular football it will take time to him to spread his wings so to speak, and live up to the hype surrounding him.

At the early stage of the season, we cant afford to play him with games like Arsenal and Man City occuring.

If we do well in those games, Roy will see no need to change the squad.
If we do crap, playing an unproven youngster can be very risky for a manager, hopefully Roy will see the potential and take the risk.

Jack Wilshire got some great experience by going to Bolton last season. He was a regular for them. Maybe we could send them Pacheco too?

                    i agree.....

if we are going to send him on loan though, we should insist that it is a Prem club....

that lad we sent to Bilbao last season, had we sent him to someone like bolton or wigan, then we'd have been better placed to make a call about keeping him on and we could see if he ever was going to make it in england.....

bolton would be a good call - under coyle, they play with the football on the deck and he would surely get good game time......

He's one of few youngsters we have I'm truly excited to see playing more.

I personally I'd keep him but if he wouldn't get enough playing time in all competitions I'd contemplate loaning him in January definitely to some other PL club.

Plus sending them back to their homeland just makes them want to move back there even more.
