I hope we go through tonight purely for players like Pacheco and Kelly to get some much needed game time. They both have something to offer the first team this year for sure.

Reaching the group stage gives these lads at least 4 more games to play in

I'd also play him from the start but I doubt Roy will share our sentiment.

He needs more playing time at the top level and this competition would be an excellent opportunity for him to impress.

was just playing a bit of fm10 (with all the latest transfers patched in) and realizing that's it's a bit hard to try and shoehorn pacheco into the team. even with what little we have available, he's got jovanovic and babel ahead of him on the left, and perhaps cole, cole and stevie in the middle and kuyt and maxi on the right.

obviously he's a bit of a special player and an outstanding young player, but when you are really trying to pick the team, you see that although jovanovic got truly slated for his performances lately, he's an experienced international player and you find yourself thinking "well, he's been in some bad form, but he *should* be able to..." and suddenly it's hard to even get pacheco on the bench at the beginning of the season, when there's a clean slate and you want to give your senior players a chance.

i sure hope roy is better at this than i am

i just wish there were an easier way of getting him involved once our plan a doesn't work, as he won't always be on our bench, particularly if we bring in a new striker. i feel he's ready to push on a bit, maybe at a rate he won't be able to realize here atm.

I don't think there is any rush tbh. He is quite small in stature so it would be no good him playing too many games one after the other in the league as he'd get smashed to pieces.

Absolutely. He needs playing time which he will get in all other competitions but PL and even there he should be used sporadically as a sub.
