Gerrard was poor but his play leading up to the 2nd goal was essential.
      We come not to play.

I guess with him being just one of 2 real attacking players in the line up (I dont count Kuyt) then we needed him. Benayoun is a decent replacement, but apparently isnt fit. Nor Aquaman. What else do we have?

We are still so reliant on him, I really dont know how we are going to cope when he is gone. Its like we are addicted to Gerrard, and are going to go cold turkey when he leaves, unless we can get an alternative fix elsewhere. Not having him for a couple of weeks gives us the shakes as it is. Mixing him with some Torres is the ultimate high though.

Lets not **** about chaps. Steven was dire today.

          Didn't look like he gave a ****.

Not sure why im bothering but hes way off match fitness and needs plenty of games to get his full fitness back. Stevie's always been this way, he needs to be in peak condition to play to the top of his game.

Gerrard drummed up the lads before the game all in a huddle, never have I seen him do that before. That’s great to see after an awful start to the season and exit out of the champion’s league. He might be playing awful but he still leads the team a lot better than some.

                    Indeed. Looks nowhere near fit.

I really did laugh a lot when that pillock Martin Keown said on MOTD2 that Gerrard was such an important player for us yesterday, I very much doubt he'd seen any of the game bar 5 minutes of highlights.

If Gerrard had been fully fit and played like he did today so would he have been. But Gerrard was not fully fit, so we can't really throw the kitchen sink at him can we now?

That was ridiculous. It was just about Gerrard's worst ever performance for us.

gerard was almost non-existent for most of the game yesterday but was still vital in challenging for the ball that riera got to shoot and ultimately set up kyut for his goal. a half fit gerard still better than most of the pish in the prremier league.

haha i saw motd 2 and was pisisng myself with that comment from keown.

gerrard is obv not fit, he needs time to rest/recover. He was off the pace yesterday, gave the ball away a lot and seemed a bit static at times.

As rev brown says above though - we need him in there at the moment even if half fit. We aren't good enough or don't have good enough players to allow gerrard to rest - heopfeully we get this ****ing aqualini playing soon, get torres back, and allow gerrard to recover properly
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Of course we have, we have done well without them last year.
