That was just a quick source which I lifted off google. It's definately 186 - it says it on Wikipedia as well as his profile on the official website.

So you back up all your 'facts' with 'quick searches'.

No argument not closed and no you don't win. My food was ready and I just quickly lifted something off the web.

You back up all your facts with statements like Rafa knows best, Kuyt works hard and Aquilani will need to prove his match fitness by playing in matches yet you say he should not be playing yet And you stated we played well against Everton on Sunday.

Oh, on top of that you you said an amazing fact the other day: Aquilani will gain match fitness by watching Premiership games. Hmmmm....interesting.

Pablo1981. There's a diference between physical fitness and match fitness. We disagree about how physically fit Aquilani is. He can get fitter than he is at the moment in training. Letting him play while well below par considering the unrealistic hope and expectation of many fans is only setting him up for a fall and even greater pressure as he recovers.
Then why bother putting him on the bench at all? It's only serving to frustrate the fans.

Anyway, I think I've made my point now. Hopefully he will get a run out later in the game against Blackburn if we have the game all but won.

As i said. If he can play without the pressure of having to go in for every 50/50 or having to stretch that extra percent to make a crucial interception or tackle etc then he can come on. If he's not on the bench then he can't.

If the game is still on a knife edge its a risk.

I think Billob makes a sound point - in the 7 man bench system it is a reasonable option to put a player on there who you would only play in extremely favourable circumstances. It might also serve to get Aquilani more familiar and feel more part of the match day squad.

I can't see anything wrong in what Rafa is doing but had he got better results this year the entire process would have been a hell of a lot easier.
Exactly right. It's only the poor form of Liverpool that has highlighted this particular problem.

And people should remember that we get 7 subs now, so I am damn sure we can afford to put at least one player on the bench who will only play in certain circumstances. Aquilanis role at present is one of "play if the game is won" I have no problem with this and it is a role I have long called for Rafa to use for our young reserves.

We do not need seven subs and as such should make full use of this by having six subs to change the game and one space for a young reserve.

EDIT: Reading dww comments above it seems someone has already made this point!

I swear we've had players with broken legs come back faster than this.

Why has no one posted up what rafa has come out and said
                          About aquilani?
                          Someone post it in here.

I think Rafa is a genius, he got fed up with the fans and press moaning about the results and form of the team so he is diverting the attention elsewhere, the non-appearance of Aquilani. When results pick up, it's safe to play Aquilani, brilliant and seems to be working like a charm, no-one is talking about the title or the CL-exit now. OK, I don't really believe that but seems to be working like that.

But when involved in a close game it is not always the best idea to take of a player involved in the midfield battle and bring one on who is obviously not capable of playing to his best level. If you read Rafa's comments prior to the Everton game you would see that this is exactly what Rafa is thinking.
