Seems we know better than Wenger as well as Rafa about how capable players are about playing when they're coming back from long term injuries.
From the Guardian:
Wenger has used Rosicky sparingly since his return but is now facing up to the fact he could be without the £6.7m player for up to a month.
"He's devastated and I am as well," Wenger said. "Before the (Stoke) match I told myself, 'He has played the whole game on Wednesday, should I take the gamble or not as it was such an important game?'. But by half-time he was struggling."
Wenger also had to do without the Croatia striker Eduardo for 18 months after he broke his leg in a horrific tackle by Birmingham's Martin Taylor in 2008. The 26-year-old took time to regain his full fitness following the injury and Wenger believes Rosicky is having the same problem.
"It's a vicious circle when you have been out for a long time. Eduardo had not played for 18 months, Tomas has not played for 18 months," he said. "When you come back, one or two games, your body has to get used to producing the energy levels again and it's difficult. Nobody masters that.

Has anyone noticed what Wenger has done with Rosicky?? he was out for a long time injured and Wenger brought him back and played him in back to back games and Rosicky has broken down with another injury.
Why some posters/idiots on here presume to know more than Rafa and his medical team about Aquilani is baffling.
edit - Damn and blast Galb beat me too it!The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Rafa confirms Aquilani start
An ankle injury has meant the Italy international has been restricted to just three cameo appearances since his summer arrival from Roma.
However, confident Aquilani's fitness concerns are now firmly behind him, Benitez is ready to hand the Reds' new No.4 his full debut.
The boss told Liverpoolfc.tv: "He will start tomorrow. He will do a proper warm-up on his own, and also with the fitness coach, so we will take care of him and he will be ready."
Aquilani has remained on the bench for Liverpool's last two outings against Everton and Blackburn Rovers.
"We decided we couldn't take any risks with him," explained the boss. "It wouldn't have been good for him or us.
"We were always considering playing him (against Blackburn), but when the game is so tight and physical, sometimes it can be worse for the player to play for 10-15 minutes.
"We wanted to protect him and give him the best opportunity to play well. Hopefully Wednesday will be the day.
"He has quality, good vision and is dynamic. It is a question of match fitness, but I think we will see some of these things against Fiorentina.
"If he can carry on training properly and play some games, we will see his quality.
"He is a player with experience at international level, which is important, but he is in a new country with different teammates, so he has to settle down and will need time.
"Each individual is different, but normally players need time."

That would indeed be strange but noone has said that. He's said he didn't want to play the player in that game when not fully fit and that's a completely different matter.Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Postwhy spunk 20 mill on a player who you dont trust in a physical game..........in a league that is the most physical in europe?????? **** me rafa....grow some and play the lad."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. Alberto Aquilani finally set to make full Liverpool debut
• Midfielder frustrated at sitting on bench
• He's been fit for a month, says player's father

Alberto Aquilani is scheduled to make a full Liverpool debut tomorrow night against Fiorentina with his father revealing that the £20m midfielder has been fit for more than a month and is frustrated at Rafael Benítez's reluctance to deploy his services. Claudio Aquilani's diagnosis could be dismissed as biased but for his employment as a paramedic at Roma, his son's former club.
Aquilani was signed as Xabi Alonso's replacement in August while still recovering from an ankle operation he underwent in May. An initial assessment of one month's absence was soon extended to three, with a virus also interrupting his schedule. Despite being in full training since before the draw with Manchester City on 21 November he has appeared once in Liverpool's last four matches – as an 89th-minute substitute against Debrecen in the Champions League.
Benítez has cited Liverpool's recent struggles as reason not to field a player without match fitness but plans to start the 25-year-old in tomorrow's Champions League dead-rubber at Anfield. Aquilani Sr, however, disputes the midfielder has not been ready to play in recent weeks.
"Alberto's available to play and has been for more than a month," he said. "He feels good and the injury has cleared up, and now the only way he can get truly fit is to play more and more minutes. He is desperate to get his career in England up and running. He has been very frustrated, first at being injured, then at not being chosen to play for so long. Obviously he's not happy at waiting for such a long time to get involved with the team.
"I don't know the reasons why Benítez has chosen not to play him since he came back for injury. That is an issue for Alberto. He must convince the coach that he has to play. I don't know of any special motivation for Benítez in not playing him. "
A source close to Aquilani, however, says the Italian has no personal problem with the Liverpool manager and that his frustrations are purely professional. "Alberto understands perfectly why the manager does not want to risk him, that if he plays too early he may be out for much longer," said the source. "He's desperate to play, naturally, but he knows he must be careful. His relationship with all of the staff at Liverpool, including Benítez, is excellent."
Claudio Aquilani has also denied the former Roma midfielder has had trouble adapting to the move to Liverpool. He added: "He is really happy in Liverpool, he has settled in really well. He's getting to grips with the language, which was a problem at first, and he is always surrounded by friends, family and his fiance. He likes the city a lot, the culture, the football and the atmosphere at the stadiums. He has been really impressed by the bond the crowd have with the players.""The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
