It's all a bit academic about when a player can be considered an own product or not. When does the scout have to find him? at the age of 8, 10, 12 16?

Gerrard started at the academy at the age of 9 when he was 'discovered' at Whiston... It is very few players that are actually enlisted at the club from first hand, most are scouted at very young age.

But I'd accept Wilshere as an arsenal product as well as I would Gerrard and other youngsters at our club currently.

Absolute Legend and irreplaceable, only when he retires will people realise just how great a player he is for us, but I would still say Kenny Dalglish is the greatest player we ever had.
