Been no updates on him for a while, he went back to Oz to have some operations, on his foot and groin a couple weeks back, and said he was going to make sure he was ready before he came back. I assume he's back in the country now because his wife's here, so my guess is he's healing from his op's and be back in the new year.

Would 4-3-3 be ideal?

Rafa teams are always liable to change formation during a game.
We have played this formation at times already this season, maybe not with the exact same personel, but a 4-2-3-1 which IMO is Rafa's favourite formation can very easily turn into a 4-3-3.
We will never play a rigid formation because thats not what football is about, not Rafas anyway.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

IMO:
Reina
Finnan Carra Hypia Warnock
Gerrard Alonso Sissoko Riise
Kuyt Bellamy/Garcia
Cant decide between Bellamy or Garcia to start, but will deffo have Gerrard/Finnan and Warnock/Riise on the flanks IMO.
Key to the game is not to concede first - praying that we can get the first goal to force them out more than normal as they leave gaps all over the place that Bellamy/Garcia/Kuyt can exploit. If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

You could argue for Agger but lets assume he's injured, none of our wide men seem up to the job at the moment, and Garcia maybe gives too much of the ball way (tonight in particularly).
So we've got Bellamy and Kuyt who can drift out wide and both deliver good crosses, but are also strong can hold their ground, which is what we need at Old Trafford. Either can drop off to give a 4-4-2, or even a 4-5-1, but can attack as a 4-3-3.
Thoughts?
Not a bad idea though I'd have either Kuyt or Crouch as the central forward, and Garcia as the left forward.
We've got the players to play it I reckon if everyone is fit, but not the squad to play it if someone is injured or Rafa fancies a tinker.
