Looking at the table, I'm just thinking how better it would look if we had beaten Blackburn like we really should of!

Its not just here. In fact this place is relatively positiveOriginally posted by banditos View PostTrue enough. The anti rafa brigade are pretty vocal on this forum.
Thought it was an improvement on most October/November performances.

Problem now is that people are not reacting to individual games, people are reacting to results and performances in the context of a string of mediocrity. Had we been up to par this year, a relatively dull 0-0 at Blackburn wouldn't even remotely illicit the reactions seen in this thread.
I still don't see how we can't improve, but the players just do not look right on the pitch, in a way I haven't seen since Houllier's last season. You can't play the sort of football Rafa wants to without a strong level of mental fortitude.... yet the players themselves don't even really look like they believe in what they're supposed to be doing at the moment. Which for me is why we're seeing lots of actually decent players play poorly on a consistent basis. I really hope Rafa turns it around, but one way or another this can't be allowed to last much longer.
lol, no, he's posted there for many years, they love having the odd lfc fan about to argue with, and Craig is very good at that after allOriginally posted by Darkon View Post
For real? he's gone to the cunt side?
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue

Mine angry and defrauded young?

Only if Villa got the highest number of points a runner up has ever got and a total that would win the league on many previous occasions.Originally posted by GraciousGooner View PostYou'd have certain scientists turning in their graves with that 'proof'. Did Villa proove it as well?Forwards.......

But we didn't and we are in 7th with Fulhum 2pts and Brum 3pts behind us.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostHad we beat them and Brum I'd still be dreaming of winning the league.
On a positive note, thanks to the blue****e (shudders at the thought) we are only 3pts behind Spurs in 4th although if ****ty won their game in hand we would be 4pts behind 4th.

A solid base has always been what we have built from then and in fact I seem to remember periods not so different to the one we are going through now in previous seasons under Rafa. I really feel that we are battling through the bad period and what we are seeing at the minute is the birth pangs of a better side which requires to regain confidence by keeping a few clean sheets and that as we come into the second half of the season we will be a different side.
I honestly think the conspiracy theories about Rafa leaving people out for this reason or that are nonsense. He is an arch pragmatist and a long term planner. However he is also a determined man who wants to win. I don't for a second believe he would compromise anything unless he felt it would help in the long run and not winning games (which could result in a league finish outside the top four) is not the sort of thing I think he will be happy about. If he leaves Torres or Aquilani out I'm certain it is because he believes that long term we will get them fitter for longer by doing it and will hence win more matches over the course of the season.
We have seen so many times in the past (even this season actually) players rushed back only to collect more injuries. While I hate enduring this **** period I'd rather do this than have to have Torres half fit for one gem in three and injured for another for the rest of the season.

This is true, how many times over the last few seasons have we seen a weekend set up for us with our main rivals losing or drawing only for us to do the same!Originally posted by Bender View Postbut how many times can we keep saying this......when we get the chance we don't take advantage
However, and I am trying to be positive, if (and it is a very big if IMO) we beat the Arse then things really will not look too bad (Spurs and Villa will keep dropping points) but if we do beat the Arse then we really must capitalise on it as ****ty (again IMO) will only get stronger and stronger. The only reason they aren't nearer the top is they have got a dose of what we had last season - draw fever.

Mate i understand your point of view......but isn't this what we were all saying after we beat Utd and then everton......in between we dropped more points.......seems to be groundhog day at LiverpoolOriginally posted by SimonNo7 View PostThis is true, how many times over the last few seasons have we seen a weekend set up for us with our main rivals losing or drawing only for us to do the same!

Some of the responses from our "supporters" is absolutely despicable, such short memories and pathetic patience. Being dissapointed with our season so far is one thing, but those calling for Rafa to be sack or hoping he will walk on the basis of under half a season are ****ing thick morons and sad examples of instant gratification society.
Worse than Newcastle fans.

Bollocks mate. For me the result at Blackburn mattered not. Whether we had sneaked a one nil, drawn as we did or even lost. The thing that pissed me off the most was Rafas stubborness. Playing Kuyt up front on his own. That for me said Rafa will never change. Also having a £20M midfielder on the bench that he had no intention of playing. Why bother? Also moaning about Blackburns physical approach, come off it, there were barely 6 tackles in the whole game. He & Wenger are always moaning about other teams being physical, well hello guys its the premiership and that what we love over here.
I agree he's had bad luck with injuries and bad luck during matches with freaks goals and the like. I've defended him all season to my mates saying he'll come good. But his relunctance to change formation and insistence on playing certain players all the time regardless of form has ****ed me off.
Hand on heart I think we'll go on a decent run and will easily secure 4th. We may even win the cup or europa league. But I'd still want him gone. I'm bored of him. I'm bored of watching **** football. I'm entitled to that opinion. I'm 100% right as its my opinion.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Absolutely, we just don't seem to be able to push on, in fact you could argue that our some of our players seem to have small club syndrome, ie they pick themselves up against the big teams and then lose to the ones they should be beating.Originally posted by Bender View PostMate i understand your point of view......but isn't this what we were all saying after we beat Utd and then everton......in between we dropped more points.......seems to be groundhog day at Liverpool

Your opinion IMHO is not the best way forward for the club. A little setback and we have kneejerk reactions calling for the manager's head. I agree with Mattshark.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Post. I'm entitled to that opinion. I'm 100% right as its my opinion.
Wonder how many here would ask Churchill to resign when the going gets tough?
