So we're just four points of you dreaming of the title, and you've given up the ghost...tut tut.

For me the result at Blackburn mattered not. Whether we had sneaked a one nil, drawn as we did or even lost. The thing that pissed me off the most was Rafas stubborness. Playing Kuyt up front on his own. That for me said Rafa will never change. Also having a £20M midfielder on the bench that he had no intention of playing. Why bother? Also moaning about Blackburns physical approach, come off it, there were barely 6 tackles in the whole game. He & Wenger are always moaning about other teams being physical, well hello guys its the premiership and that what we love over here.

I agree he's had bad luck with injuries and bad luck during matches with freaks goals and the like. I've defended him all season to my mates saying he'll come good. But his relunctance to change formation and insistence on playing certain players all the time regardless of form has ****ed me off.

Hand on heart I think we'll go on a decent run and will easily secure 4th. We may even win the cup or europa league. But I'd still want him gone. I'm bored of him. I'm bored of watching **** football. I'm entitled to that opinion. I'm 100% right as its my opinion.
you are entitled to your opinion......could you also please explain what you want to happen then under the current owners?

lets say we win the europa cup and finish an easy 4th. you then say thanks Rafa, a few questions.......

who would you suggest to bring in? ( realistically?) The new manager, does he get 5 years to bring the title?

What happens to the youth development rafa has just brought in and his 20 or so spanish coaches?

Why does Rafa not deserve time to turn it round?

he's had long enough to prove that he'sstubborn and that hestill doesn't know how to win the premiership. how much longer should we give him.

I don't have all the answers. I just want a change. Maybe its wrong and when you think of the upheaval it would cause with back room staff etc, its a nightmare, but that doesn't mean you should never change, ever.

Like I said before its not the results alone that are fuelling my desire for change. My god a bit of luck here and there and its not beyoind possibilities that we could be near the top, but at the same time we could be even closer to the bottom.

Its the feeling I get that he won't change his ideas, even if they're not working, he doesn't want people to suggest another way and for them to be proved right. What logical reason is there for us to put all 11 players in our penalty area to defend a corner? Who else does this? Does it stop us conceding? No. Its madness pure & simple.

After 5 seasons we still don't have a defined style apart from **** and disjointed. Arsenal play lovely football on the floor, stoke kick & rush, burnley get it down and try and play as do spurs, chelsea are organised and have flair players, utd play the same whoever comes in. We lose one or two key players and the whole pack of cards falls in.

There must be 20-25 managers out there at least who given our current resources and playing staff could make a decent fist of it. Just give one of them a try. Whats the worse that can happen? relegation? unlikely.

Do you remember last season at all? Or this that just a bit too complex.
Do you realise the financial position we are in compared to our rivals?

you're right and I withdraw that attack. however I don't think he is the man for the job. another manager who has players like Reina johnson agger carragher mascherano aquilani gerrard Torres and beny would be doing better.

Matt, when does his tenure become untenable then? Does he have a job for life or are there a set of goals that , if not met, you would sack Rafa.

Say, for example, we finish 5th this season. Would you keep him in place?

                  I doubt it.

Well yes, after he won la liga he finished 5th and then won la liga the next season. Since then Valencia have not been the same. If then the following season he cannot turn it around then you change.

However, all this vitriol and impatience is based on under half a season which is truly ridiculous.

I agree we cannot change in the middle of the season and that no matter what happens he is our manager and should not be subject to personal attacks. He earned his chance based on last season.

Personally I think he has to be judged at the end of the season, but I accept you are giving him until the summer of 2011. It's fair, but I believe it's important to have boundaries for this. No matter what happens, he's not going to be our manager forever.

The thing is that for ever time you read this you think how many times have Gerrard, Agger, Aquilani, Torres or Benayoun played this season. When they have they have often been obviously unfit. We certainly don't have the depth of the United squad but looking at that the benefit of having a top manager with a well integrated development setup become clear pretty quickly.

I'm with Matt on this one - progress isn't always a linear up tick.

I wanted to touch on that on another thread. As you said, progress is never a curve with ups and ups .... There would be periods when we'll stagnate, go down a little. It's the general trend that is important and also why seeing the bigger picture is always the defining aspect of any long term plan.

5 of those 7 players have been injured for large parts of the season. If they hadn't I'm sure we'd have more points.
