Well said..........Originally posted by red g View PostEl zhar could be a good shout to start.
Riera on the left, El Zhar on the right and Yossi behind the striker. Hopefully Bable if he's fit. Aquilani and hopefully Spearing in the CM, likely Aqua and Lucas though.
Kelly/Darby at RB and Aurelio/Dossena at LB. Skrtel and one other at CB, maybe the Greek to keep him ticking over. Cav in goal as he deserves a game to keep him happy.
Sorted. Still a strong line up that.Forwards.......

Three clean sheets on the trot, unbeaten in three, two wins and a draw. Okay so it's not much but unquestionably it's something to build on.Originally posted by Chrono View PostWhat run? We've won 1 in the previous 4 games and our last result was a **** draw. I'd prefer us to just play whoever for this one but have our first team players fresh and ready to kick off from the following game, start again. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Agree, we need to keep the back five unchanged, fitness permitting, Mascher or Lucas longside Aquilani and play Riera/Babel and Kuyt/Yossi on either side of Gerrard.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPlay that team and we'd lose. Again. Back to square one, just as we were after the League Cup defeat at Arsenal. We need to keep the run going, keep another clean sheet and win, taking the momentum into the Arsenal game on Sunday. Another defeat and the atmosphere within and surrounding the club would be full of doom.
I'd like to see Aurelio get some minutes at left back or Dossena and rest Insua and N'gog upfront again.
No we have some stability and we need to find the rythm again.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The former is the key for me. Under Rafa we have always gained confidence in attack from the knowledge we are solid at the back."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Do you care if we lose to Fiorintina on Wednesday? I don't. Of course I'd rather we win, but if he put out a secomnd string and we got beat I wouldn't be complaining and can't see why others would.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThree clean sheets on the trot, unbeaten in three, two wins and a draw. Where you asking for the first team to start against Arsenal? I wasn't. Our back ups need games too and youngsters deserve a chance. If we play a young lad now and he does well, that gives us another option. Look at Martin Kelly. We now know we can call on him to do a good job for us. I'd like some more answers.
Yes a full strength LFC could go out and beat Fiorintina. But they want to win the group and will come out kicking and all guns blazing. With their players going full blooded into challenges and are first teamers pulling out of them we could get more needless injuries.
I say ploay the lads who want to get into our first choice XI. I want to see Skrtel start and I want him to prove he can come in and do a job when the inevitable happens and Agger has to sit a game or two out.
Gerrard has been playing with injections - why would ypou want him playing? Same goes for Johnson.Forwards.......

Which is it? Same back 5 or change the back 5?Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostAgree, we need to keep the back five unchanged, fitness permitting, Mascher or Lucas longside Aquilani and play Riera/Babel and Kuyt/Yossi on either side of Gerrard.

Pointless game that is not worth the risk for any first team players other than those on the edges of the first 11.

By winning, it will help us boost our confidence. We all know what happened after the utd game in the carling cup. City beat Arsenal with a full strength team, all thou some what lucky against Chavs at the weekend, the momentum carried them forward. PMA.Originally posted by andrewces38 View PostI would personaly like to see a full strength team with Aqualini in instead of Lucas or Macher and rest a few big names after 60 mins , It's better to get some momentum going into the xmas games and some confidence going into the Arsenal game , I just hope Rafa doesn't use Aqualini as a swap for Stevie and keep the 2 defensive midfielders, That would really piss me off

However I still think without our stars playing we can win
Reina
Johnson (to match fitness min 45) Skrtel - Agger (a chance to see how the future partnership works) Dossena
El Zhar Spearing Aquilani Riera
Babel if fit, N gog
