    I agree, he does deserve a new deal and I'd be happy to secure him on £100k for 10 years but, it still sounds like he's turning the screw.

    If he's been offered a new deal and has not signed it then surely that means he's turned it down, no?

      They could still be negotiating. Player contracts these days are complicated. It may simply be with his lawyer to be checked out. We had the same panic about Nano and a number of other players at various points that they hadn't signed new contracts but in time it all got smoothed out. I don't see the fact that a contract hasn't been signed as being synonymous with it being turned down at all.

        syas all the right things alright. he has no reason to return to spain though football-wise as he'd just be living in casillas' shadow. unless barca took a shine to him. bollox to that.
