    I'm not sure Skrtel is a great CB. He is very promising though. Agger is on balance probably as good a CB as you would get but like many players he really only comes into his own when he has a run in the team, which he hasn't had for a good while.

    I've touched on this elsewhere but I do wonder whether highly specialist players like Mascherano, no matter how good they might be, aren't part of our problem.

        I really liked him when he first came but he is going through a rough patch and he needs to turn things around. How he develops now will probably define his career in my opinion. Some exceptional defenders (Ferdinand being the one that springs to mind) have had horrible periods of form and gone on to be much better for it.

        The trouble for Skrtel is that he isn't dominant in the air like Sami was, isn't as adept at recovery tackling as Carragher and isn't as good on the ball as Agger. In many ways he is a bit of a jack of all defensive trades, master of none. Hopefully he will grow with experience.

            With Skrtel i just thought it was the clash of heads with Carra affected his confidence and probably caused him some pain as well.

              Torres was a star in the making and look how he has handled him, he spends more time with the doctors at Liverpool then on the pitch. I would have gone for Tevas garther then Mash. Kuyt please the the guy was signed to be the next RVN forget his work rate. Reina the GK was a good buy and so was johnson. But please the rest have either be average or poor.

              Lets forget the past look to the future and with Rafa there it is only going one way and that is down...

                How on earth is that due to Rafa's handling of him??? He's become one of, if not the best strikers in the world. Yeah Rafa should be ashamed of what he has done to him.

                              I am really disappointed and saddened to have to take my stance but I genuinely believe that rafa is trying to make a point out of our season so far.

                              If he wasnt why didnt he try and win the blackburn match by putting aquilani on ? or the lyon game when it was still 0-0 with 20 to go ? It just seems as if he hasnt tried hard enough to win matches.

                              Ultimately that's down to choice.
