    Garcia v Pennant v Gerrard

Which of these three would you play on the right side of midfield assuming each of them is fit?

Pennant from what I've seen of him is full of running, but despite a decent run in the side he just hasn't cut the mustard so far.

Garcia tends to cut inside and as such is not an out and out winger. The other issue I have with him is that is fluctuates between the sublime and ****e often within the same game. All said and done I think he's a better option than Pennant at the moment

Gerrard in theory played on the right as a stop gap last year. However, from what I've seen of him in that position I think he's pretty dam good. Playing Stevie G on the right also allows us to play Alonso and Sissoko in the middle.

    Thoughts?

Gerrard for me without a shadow of a doubt. Its his best position. Hes not tactically disciplined enough to play in the middle, but out wide it doesnt matter so much

In my opinion Gerrard is tactically aware enough to play in the middle as he has proved many a time in the past but he isn't tactically disciplined enough to play a 'Didi Hamann' role.

Regarding the initial question and the right wing position, our best midfield seems to look like this at the moment:

      Gonzales - Alonso - Sissoko - Gerrard

Stevie definitely. Although its not an ideal situation its the best solution we have at the minute.

With the players we have, Gerrard should be playing right side with his licence to roam intact. It seemed to work very well last year.

An on-form partnership of Alonso and Momo strike fear into most (if not all) midfields.

Therefore Gerrard on the right is his best position for the team.

A fit and on-form Kewell would complete the midfield and would be the best in the country.

It'll never all happen like, but that's my thoughts.

Garcia is an excellent impact player, and does well in big games from the right or left.

I haven't seen anything from Pennant to suggest he should be played on the right ahead of Gerrard and Garcia.

Our strongest midfield has got to include Gerrard on the right with Alonso and Sissoko in the middle, its then a toss up between Gonzalez, Garcia and Kewell for the left.
Pennant has had his chance and unfortunatley not really taken it.

did think pennant would be the answer but he looks far too ordinary when he`s had his chance garcia is too frustrating and is better when used when we are attacking other teams i.e home games etc so the answer has to be gerrard
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

There aren't many players better than Gerrard in the world, let alone at our club, so Gerrard.

Gerrard without a doubt has to play on the right wing

i want to start playing with a 3 man midfield... woth gonzo or garcia up wide left and pennant up wide right and kuyt/crouch in the middle, tha puts gerrar on richt sided central midfield free to roam aroun cause trouble and track back...

I do not think Garcia should be used on the left, certainly on the basis of Liverpool v West Ham this year. To my mind Gonzales, Kewell, Riise and Aurellio are all better wide left players.

Garcia is good behind a main striker or as a right midfielder.

Garcia at RM. The notion that Gerrard isn't "tactical aware" or can't handle a CM position is kneejerk of the highest order. (I love kneejerk so it's all good)

Didn't Gerrard play CM with Hamann for two or three years? I want Gerrard in the middle where he belongs. To watch us play with, what is effectively, two defensive midfielders is just too painful. Momo/Alonso has four (4!) goals between them in 46 EPL matches. That's the CM that you guys push as the answer for this season? 8 points short of the big3?

                            I love it.

I'm curious as to what would happen if Pennant starts producing out there and makes a name for himself, where does Gerrard fit in?
