Why is our Shirt numbers style different for the european games

I think its cos the ones we use in the league are "official" FA Premier League names and numbers so we can't use them in Europe. I'm sure we've used the same names and numbers in the past so why its changed this year I'm not sure.
Having said that at least we are using the proper Adidas ones. Arsenal's names and numbers on Tuesday night looked like dodgy fake iron on jobs you see kids getting done at the shop in town. -
On this subject anyone know if you can get the european home kit names and numbers done in the LFC shop in town yet, they didn't have them last time I checked, and I like them much more than the FAPL ones.Thomas Hicks SeniorComment

In the league we have to use the official ones as you say. In previous years we've just used the same style name and number but without the FAPL logo. But now Adidas do some nice one's for usOriginally posted by Slim

The rules are governed by the laws and regulations of the country/association hosting the game
