I cannot believe there isn't a thread about this poor excuse of a referee! Robbed us of at least 1 blatant penalty & their equaliser was a result of a free-kick which should have gone our way after a late tackle on Mascherano!
Furthermore I counted at least 11 fouls against us that weren't given!
Only Carra had the sense to march up to him at full time & point out what a useless prick he is - **** he made me mad yesterday! (Webb that is...)

I thought he had a stinker too mate. Seemed determined from the off to give anything debateable to them and seemed to have a much more aggressive attitude towards our players than theirs.

Terrible decisions & we shouldve had a pen & been 2-0 up, but there is only so long we can blame outside factors & whatever the nonsense decisions, there is NO excuse for the performance- or lack thereof- in the 2nd half.

Yeah, it was a shocking performance. It looked like he decided from the 1st minute that Gerrard was not getting anything, no matter how many times he went down. I know Gerrard has had the occasional easy tumble in the past but it was ridiculous how many times he was fouled and the ref waved play on.

I rarely think refs deserve stick (its a tough job and people make mistakes) but yesterday just smacked of an individual having made up his mind before the game to show how tough he was to stand up to the home team. Ego ahead of ability or common sense.

Let us not forget that it was only Howard Webb that granted an inexistent penalty to ManUtd when they needed it most. Last season, with Liverpool breathing down their necks, ManU were losing two nil at home to Spurs before this comedian (to put it mildly) decided to change the course of the season.

An inexistent penalty given to ManU and a 100% penalty not given to LFC. The reward ? Handpicked by the powers to be as England's best referee.

So yes nothing can excuse the poor performance in the second half, and yet, England's best ref is probably not the best but the one who gets the best treatment from the powers to be in return of doing a small job.

When will the English learn and realise the political aspects of the modern game ? Recently, (at last) a study exhibited the conundrum at Old Trafford when ManU are losing, extra time is simply added to normal time until...someone scores. Was this always a coincidence ? Dont make me laugh.

I dont think anyone has said we lost just because of the ref to be fair. He was a joke though, theres no getting away from that regardless of our performance.
